Videocon launches GSM mobile services in Madhya Pradesh & Chattisgarh


Madhya Pradesh, August 3, 2010: Videocon GSM Mobile Services today announced the launch of its services in Madhya Pradesh & Chattisgarh. After one of the industry’s fastest sequential rollouts for a Greenfield service provider, this launch in Madhya Pradesh & Chattisgarh today marks Videocon’s foray into their 7th circle. By the end of June 2010, which was just 3 months from launch of Videocon Mobile Services in India, Videocon has gathered a subscriber base of more than 19 lakh users (Source: TRAI), highlighting the tremendous growth and acceptance of the Videocon Mobile Services brand with the customers. Deploying a future ready 2.75G EDGE GSM network, Videocon Mobile Services offers subscribers innovative Value-Added Services (VAS) and superior customer service in addition to a wide choice of true value bill plans.

Rs 1000 Crore Investment in MP & Chattisgarh Videocon envisages investments of around Rs 14,000 crores in Videocon Mobile Services over the next 3 years and plans an investment of around Rs. 1000 Crore in MP & Chattisgarh. The company will leverage a network of more than ­­­­2260 BTS at the time of launch to deliver superior services to subscribers across all major towns, national & state highways and important railway routes in the state. Underlining an aggressive roll out plan, Videocon Mobile Services targets to cover 100% of the urban population of MP & Chattisgarh and more than 30% of the rural population in subsequent months. The brand will have a retail presence in over 25000 outlets in MP & Chattisgarh from day 1 and plans to cover 50000 outlets within 6 months, offering easy access to customers across the state.

The Rs.399 monthly recharge plan is designed to help subscribers with a fixed monthly mobile bill for their local calls. Subscribers can make an unprecedented unlimited number of free local calls both on the Videocon Mobile Services network as well as to other service provider networks. Almost all pricing plans are powered by a revolutionary unlimited 1 paisa/ second call tariff on STD calls to any network across India.

Under the Rs 59 recharge plan subscribers can make absolutely unlimited local on-net calls and SMS for 30 days!

In addition to these value-driven plans Videocon Mobile Services also extends the power of completely unlimited internet access through their Rs 96 plan under which the subscribers are powered with free usage of internet for first 30 days.
