Now Tweet without internet access or a GPRS-enabled phone through Videocon GSM Mobile Services!

Offers convenience through innovation by providing Twitter on SMS

Mumbai, August 2 Bringing convenience at your mobilestep, Videocon GSM Mobile Services presents Twitter in a new, innovative form. You can now tweet through the unassuming SMS on your Videocon Mobile Services network. Customers using non-GPRS enabled phones wanting to access the popular social networking site will finally be able to do so through Twitter on SMS. Other users can get an easy connect with the people in their network without connecting to GPRS networks or paying browsing charges!

Each Twitter SMS will be charged at Re.1 per tweet, with each message limited to standard character limit of 160 characters. There will be no charges for receiving updates. No browsing charges will be levied nor would the customers seeking to tweet have to use their browsers to access Twitter.

Videocon Mobile Services’ existing users can subscribe to the service by sending an SMS saying “START” to 53000 while the new users would have to SMS ‘Signing Up’ to 53000.

The partnership allows us to offer Twitter access for the Videocon users directly via SMS. Thus, they can stay connected to the real time information flow regardless of the location and can tweet by a single SMS.” said, Kevin Thau, Director of Business Development- Twitter.
