Generate a Unique Porting Code (UPC) from your mobile number.
To generate a UPC, SMS "PORT" (space) mobile number to 1900 |

Visit your nearest ‘Videocon Retail Outlet’, submit mandatory documents and fill the Customer Application Form and Port-in form, pay Port-in fee (as applicable), get a new Videocon Mobile Services SIM and request for port-in. Click here for a list of Mandatory Documents. |

Q1- What is Mobile Number Portability?
A1- Mobile Number Portability (MNP) allows a customer to move freely from one mobile operator to the other, within a circle, without changing his mobile number.
Q2. What are the Special features of MNP?
A2. -You can retain your old mobile number while changing services to a new mobile Service Operator.
-The technology allows cross portability from CDMA to GSM and GSM to CDMA.
-With Videocon you get the freedom to Port-in from Postpaid to Prepaid.
Q3. What is Port-in request (to Videocon) in Mobile Number Portability?
A3. It is the process of helping a customer of competitor mobile operator or Service Provider to switch to Videocon Mobile Services without changing his mobile number.
For e.g. - Customer of any other Service Provider who wants to switch to Videocon Mobile Services is Port- in for Videocon.
Q4- Where can I call to check the status of my Port- in request?
A4- You can call our 10 digit helpline number – “9072012345”
Q5. What is Unique Porting Code (UPC) and how will I get my UPC?
A5. Whenever you want to Port-in with a new service provider, you need to send an SMS PORT<space><mobile number> to 1900 to generate a unique porting code. This code needs to be clearly mentioned by you in the Port-in form at the time of giving the request.
UPC is valid for a period of 15 days.
Q6- How many digits does a UPC number contain?
A6- It is an 8 digit alpha numeric number.
Q7- After sending the Port-out request to the Old/ Donor Operator, how much time does it take to receive the Unique Porting Code (UPC)?
A7- You will receive the code instantly after you send the SMS.
Q8- What is the Turn around Time (TAT) for the Port-In Process?
A8- Turn around time for complete Port in process is 7 days. (Subject to positive verification)
Q9. Can I Port-in from CDMA to GSM and GSM to CDMA?
A9. Yes, technology allows you to do cross portability from CDMA to GSM and GSM to CDMA.
Q10. Will my account balance (Talk time) with current mobile operator be carried forward to the new mobile account?
A10. No, the balance amount with the Old operator will be forfeited.
Q11- How much is the Port-in fee that I will be charged?
A11- The Port-in fee that can be charged to you is a maximum of Rs. 19/ (per Port-in request). (As per TRAI guidelines).
Q12- What is the “No Service period” during the number Port-in process?
A12- “No Service Period” will be for a maximum of 2 hours.
Q13- How will I get the information about my “No Service Period?
A13- You will receive an SMS informing you about your “No Service Period”
Q14- Will there be any special Scheme or FRC when I Port-in with Videocon?
A14- No, after activation you can do any FRC (applicable for your circle) of your choice.
Q15- Apart from switching operators, does MNP allow switching services from prepaid to postpaid and vice-versa?
A15- Yes, MNP supports switching of services from prepaid to postpaid and postpaid to prepaid.
Q16- Can I Port-in to any circle within the country?
A16- No, with MNP you can Port-in within your home circle only.
Q17- With MNP is it possible to Port-in from CDMA to GSM and vice versa?
A17- Yes, technology allows you to Port your mobile number from CDMA to GSM and GSM to CDMA.
Q18- After sending a Port-in request to the Donor Operator, is there a possibility to cancel the same?
A18- Yes, the cancellation request can be given to the retailer in writing with-in 24 hours of submitting the port-in request.
Q19- Is there any time period for making a Port-in request?
A19- You need to be with your current operator for a minimum of 90 days before switching to other operator.
Q20- What happens in case my Port-in request gets rejected?
A20- You will receive an SMS informing you about the reason for rejection. In that case you can act upon the rejection reason and raise a fresh request for Port-in.
Q21- What are the charges for cancelling the Port-in request?
A21- There is no charge for Port-in cancellation. However, the port-in fee paid by you is non refundable.
Q22- How will I get the information about success / failure of my Port-in request?
A22- SMS will be sent to you by Videocon Mobile Services informing you about the status, “No Service Period” and activation time of your Videocon SIM (in case of success).
Q23. What is Port out in MNP?
A23. Port out is the process of switching to any other service provider from your current service provider.
Q24. Are there any conditions that I need to fulfill for a Port- in?
A24. Conditions to be fulfilled for Port-in are:
(a) You should have served a period of 90 (ninety) days on your current service provider from the date of activation/ last Port-in.
(b) Port-in can be done within the same circle.
(c) Before the date of application for porting, you should have no outstanding payments to your current service provider by way of pending bills.
(d) You should have no pending request to change ownership of your mobile number.
(e) You should confirm that the mobile number to be ported is not sub-judice.
(f) The porting of your mobile number should not have been prohibited by the court of law.
Q25. Who is the Recipient in case of MNP?
A25. The new operator accepting the customer on his network is the Recipient.
Q26. Who is the Donor Operator in case of MNP?
A26. The operator who allows the customer to move from his network to the other operator is the Donor Operator.

| Eligibility and Rejection Criteria |

| Eligibility Criteria: |
| (a) |
The applicant shall have served a period of 90 (ninety) days on the network of the donor operator in case the mobile number has not been ported earlier or from the date of activation of his mobile number after its last porting in case of a mobile number which has been ported earlier as the case may be; |
| (b) |
Before the date of application for porting, no outstanding payments are due to the donor operator by way of pending bills/bills, as per normal billing cycle; |
| (c) |
No request is pending for change of ownership of the mobile number; |
| (d) |
The applicant confirms that the mobile number to be ported is not sub-judice; |
| (e) |
The porting of the mobile number has not been prohibited by the court of law. |
| (f) |
Porting request can only be acknowledged if the request is for the same service area. |

| 2. |
Upon the completion of the formalities stated in these terms and conditions and the mobile number being ported to Videocon Telecommunications Limited (“Videocon”), any pre-paid balance in the account with the donor operator shall stand forfeited and shall not be carried forward into the pre-paid talk time of Videocon. |
| 3. |
Subject to the terms and conditions stated herein, the SIM issued by Videocon shall be activated within a time period of seven working days(intervening public holidays declared under the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881 shall be excluded) from the date of the receipt of the application form along with all the supporting documentation. Provided that a time period of at least fifteen working days (intervening public holidays declared under the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881 shall be excluded) shall be taken to activate the SIM issued by Videocon in the regions of [North East, Jammu and Kashmir & Assam] from the date of the receipt of the application form along with all the supporting documentation. |

The requisite details pertaining to the port-in activation shall be informed either telephonically or through SMS or automated voice messages by Videocon on the mobile number of the Donor operator. |
| 5. |
Once the application form along with the supporting documentation has been submitted by the applicant to Videocon, the same cannot be withdrawn. Provided that the same can be withdrawn by the applicant within a period of 24 hours of submitting the application form by informing Videocon in writing. In case of rejection by Donor operator / MNP clearing house or the applicant withdrawing his application form shall not be entitled to refund of any charges paid by him for the porting to Videocon. |

| 7. |
The application form can be rejected by Videocon in case it is not supported by the documentation stated in above mentioned Point 6. The activation of the SIM issued by Videocon to the applicant will be subject to positive verification of the documentations provided along with this application form. |
| 8. |
The tariff plans provided by the donor operator may not be the same as those provided by Videocon. Videocon reserves the right to change the tariff plans at any time in its sole discretion and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the DOT. |

Rejection Criteria: |
| 1. |
Under the following circumstances, the applicant’s request for porting of his/her mobile number may get rejected: |
| |
| (a) |
If the application for porting has been made before the expiry of a period of 90 (Ninety) days from the date of activation of existing mobile connection of the donor operator; |
| (b) |
If the request for change of ownership of the mobile number is under process; |
| (c) |
If the mobile number mentioned above is sub-judice; |
| (d) |
If the porting of the mobile number mentioned above has been prohibited by a Court of Law; |
| (e) |
If the porting request is for any other service area (inter-service area porting); |
| (f) |
If the unique porting code mentioned above does not match with the unique porting code allocated by the donor operator for the mobile number sought to be ported. |
| (g) |
If there are subsisting contractual obligations in respect of which an exit clause has been provided in the agreement with the donor operator but the applicant has not complied with such exit clause. |
| (h) |
If there are any outstanding payments due from the applicant by way of pending bill or bills issued as per the normal billing cycle but before the date of application for porting. |
| (i) |
In the event of non payment of any such dues to the donor operator, the ported mobile number shall, without prejudice to any other remedies available to the donor operator under applicable laws, be liable to be disconnected. |
| (j) |
In the event the eligibility criteria as specified in criteria 6 are not complied as per the TRAI /DOT guidelines. |
| (k) |
If the Donor operator/MNP clearing house has indicated its non clearance to the Porting request sought. |
