But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines? (Warner Bros media release) — Ali Kayn Was the third installment in the Fantastic Beast "universe" a succes? Well, the main storyline was okey but the rest of it was kinda unimportant and not that interesting.

Also like i had with the previous two installments was the lack of intensity and emotions in the action scenes. And after 3 completed movie i still can't find my connection with most of the characters especially the main one's. The "recasting" of Johnny Depp was a huge mistake for the development of Grindelwald's character!

One of the outstanding parts were the CGi and special effects so enjoyable and well created. Also the Harry Potter references were nice, lovely and not overdone It's a overall good movie but not one to rewatch weekly like the other two, it's pretty predictable with more forgettable moments than remembered once's. I really wanted to like it more but it just didn't really worked out for me.

Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald's growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

Plot Albus Dumbledore takes a train to meet Gellert Grindelwald in a Muggle restaurant, where they argue about their past, how their goals used to be aligned, and the blood troth between them, ending with Grindelwald telling Dumbledore to stay out of his way and making it clear he intends to burn down the non-magic world, with or without Albus's help.

Meanwhile in the jungles of Kweilin, at nighttime, Newton Scamander helps a Qilin, a magical creature that can see into one's soul as well as the future, give birth, but some of Grindelwald's disciples, led by Credence Barebone, attack and overpower Newt, kill the mother, and kidnap the newborn. Unbeknownst to them, the Qilin has birthed twins, the younger of which Newt is able to save after he wakes up.

In Nurmengard, Grindelwald kills the Qilin to harness its ability of precognition after it doesn't bow to him. In the dead Qilin's blood's reflection, he sees Albus showing the blood pact to Theseus and Newt in the Hog's Head Inn. Newt and Theseus head to Hog's Head Inn in order to question Dumbledore for the best course of action against Grindelwald. With Dumbledore still powerless to break the Blood Troth that prevents him from fighting Grindelwald, he reveals that he has plans to defeat Grindelwald and stop him from tearing the world apart with hatred, but they have to trust him.

Eulalie Hicks recruits Jacob Kowalski, who is depressed with Queenie Goldstein having left him and his Kowalski Quality Baked Goods suffering from the Great Depression and initially wants nothing more to do with the wizarding world but eventually decides to help out.

In the Great Wizarding Express heading for Berlin, Newt, Theseus, Bunty Broadacre, and Yusuf Kama greet the two and Newt then reveals that in order to thwart Grindelwald's future-seeing abilities, they will split up and perform different roles. He gives Theseus a tie with a large golden pin, Jacob a coreless wand, and Bunty instructions that will burn when she sees it as they set out to fulfil their roles.

Bunty has Newton Scamander's suitcase duplicated into half a dozen copies, while the rest go to Berlin in order to visit the German Ministry of Magic. Anton Vogel, the Supreme Mugwump and the Minister, refuses to help Newt and the others to stop Grindelwald for political reasons and they can only watch as Grindelwald is acquitted of all charges by the International Confederation of Wizards and can run for the position of the next Supreme Mugwump, with Theseus being captured.

Reuniting with Dumbledore, he tells Newt where Theseus is imprisoned and assigns Eulalie and Jacob with the task of preventing assassination attempts on Grindelwald's competitors. Grindelwald, at Nurmengard, then has a vision Yusuf Kama going to Nurmengard, and Dumbledore going to Bhutan to confront him, with Vinda looking on. Next morning, Yusuf enters Nurmengard Castle and is fantastic beasts 3 installed as a spy in Grindelwald's inner-circle, after Grindelwald removes Yusuf's memory of Leta's death.

Dumbledore walks across Berlin with Credence following him as Grindelwald has ordered him to kill Dumbledore. Aware of Credence's spying, Dumbledore quickly faces him and they fight due to Credence's anger about being abandoned. Dumbledore defeats Credence after a fierce fight, and it's revealed that he is not Albus's brother but rather his nephew as Aberforth's son.

Meanwhile, in Berlin, Anton Vogel defends his stance on Grindelwald fantastic beasts 3 as a candidate for the next Supreme Mugwump to other high-profile Fantastic beasts 3 members. Grindelwald is on the same street, driving a car with Vinda. He sees a vision of Jacob Kowalski pulling out his coreless wand to threaten him.

Jacob and Eulalie are able to prevent the assassination of Vicência Santos but Jacob's reckless face-off with Grindelwald allows Grindelwald to frame him for attempting to kill Grindelwald and he and Lally barely escape, giving Grindelwald an incentive to turn the wizarding world against the muggle world. Queenie aids in their escape by launching a chair at Helmut and his henchmen to distract them, and buy Jacob more time to escape. Meanwhile Newt enters the Erkstag prison and successfully rescues his brother despite the Manticore and the guard attempting to stop them.

The group reunite at Hogwarts and go to the Hog's Head for dinner. As Grindelwald uses Necromancy in order to zombify the Qilin he killed, subsequently having a vision of another Qilin and getting angry at Credence, Dumbledore confronts his brother about his responsibilities to Credence and Newt learns the truth about Albus's past as Credence, disillusioned with Grindelwald, contacts them via a mirror asking to return home.

Albus comes up with a plan to fantastic beasts 3 everyone with Credence's help, and the next day, he tells the others that they must go to Bhutan to stop Grindelwald, as the election will be held there.

Travelling to Bhutan with a device provided by the Room of Requirement, they are able to defeat all of Grindelwald's disciples, with Yusuf revealing his true allegiance in process. Grindelwald uses the zombified Qilin to be announced as the Supreme Mugwump and immediately declares war on the Muggles, torturing Jacob for his attempts to assassinate him. However, Credence, Queenie, and Newt are able to expose him and Bunty reveals the true Qilin.

It chooses Vicência after Dumbledore refuses to be the next Fantastic beasts 3 Mugwump. His plans having been foiled, Grindelwald angrily attempts to kill Credence, but Albus and Aberforth save him. As he was protecting Credence rather than attacking Grindelwald in the clash, the blood pact finally breaks and Dumbledore immediately battles Grindelwald.

The intense battle ends with their wands on each other's head and their hands on the other's heart, reaching a stalemate, and Grindelwald subsequently retreats. The dying Credence is taken away by his father as the Phoenix mournfully follows them. In the aftermath of the election, Jacob and Queenie marry with most of the group and Tina attending. Dumbledore watches from a distance as he thanks Newt for all he's done before walking away alone.

Production Development J. K. Rowling has commented on her Twitter account that she was done writing the script to Fantastic Beasts 3 on 10 December 2018. [7] Upon reports that the film's release date was pushed from November 2020 to one year later, November 2021, comments from actor Eddie Redmayne at the Toronto International Film Festival in Fantastic beasts 3 2019 suggested that production was waiting on Rowling to finish working on the script. [8] Whereas J.

K. Rowling was the sole writer for the first two films in the franchise, Steve Kloves, who served as screenwriter for all Harry Potter films except Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, will serve as a co-writer for Fantastic Beasts 3 with Rowling. [9] The final credit was approved by the Writer's Guild of America in June 2021: screenplay by Rowling and Kloves, based on a screenplay by Rowling. On 22 September 2021, the title and new release date was revealed.

[5] On 29 September 2021, it was announced that Ireland and Great Britain would be getting the film a week earlier, on 8 April 2022. [2] Plot information Little bits of the plot were released over the years. J. K. Rowling has commented, via her Twitter account, that we will see the "true glory" of Ilvermorny Professor Eulalie Hicks (played by Jessica Williams, who was introduced in the preceding instalment) in Fantastic Beasts 3.

[10] It has been suggested by a series of other Tweets by Rowling that this film might be set, at least partially, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; in an interview in February 2019, actor Dan Fogler also mentioned the film being set in Brazil. [11] Also from set pictures and other sources, the film will be set in multiple locations, such as Berlin, [12] China, [13] and Hogsmeade - Richard Coyle changed his location on his Twitter bio to 'Hogsmeade', and the Fantastic Beasts fansite mentioned one of the few locations is the 'Hogs Head Pub'.

[14] When asked to describe the third Fantastic Beasts film in three words, J. K. Fantastic beasts 3 said " Answers are given". [15] Dan Fogler described the film as a set-up for World War II, suggesting that the film is set at some point before September 1939. [16] J. K. Rowling stated in an interview that she was using something from China in the next film, and she also stated that it has something to do with Chinese mythical creatures.

[17] When asked about how Aurelius Dumbledore fits into the Dumbledore family tree by Empire Film Podcast, David Yates responds with "there's a very intricate, lovely beginning of FB3 that we discover a few things about the [Dumbledore] family." [18] In an interview with Score: The Podcast, James Newton Howard mentioned that "I think it's by far the best one, it's really good. Mads Mikkelsen fantastic beasts 3 playing Grindelwald, he's so great, and it's just great.

It's full of magic, and scary stuff, and romantic – it's just really fun." He also said he sent David Yates close to 2 hours of music with a couple notes. [19] Deadline reported on 7 October 2021 that "The David Yates-directed Fantastic Beasts threequel is due in April next year — and the BTS scenes shown in Spain included a quick glimpse of Mads Mikkelsen as Gellert Grindelwald.

The story picks up in the 1930s, a little after the events of the previous film and will take place in such far-flung locales as Bhutan, Germany, the US, the UK and China.

Evoked were new creatures, old favourites, more magic and even a peek back into Hogwarts." [20] The trailer for the film depicts Jacob Kowalski, a No-Maj, both being provided a wand and sitting at a table with students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This has resulted in a flurry of speculation, for two reasons. It has been established within the franchise that a wand is of no use to anyone who is not a wizard or witch.

Secondly, Hogwarts is enchanted with a charm that normally prevents Muggles from even seeing it, though Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets establishes that Myrtle Warren's parents were invited to the castle, suggesting the enchantment is able to be lifted for specific individuals.

[21] A second trailer for the film depicts Gellert Grindelwald as announcing all-out war against the non-magic community. The trailer also depicts Dumbledore sitting down across from Grindelwald and telling him "What you're doing is madness," only for Grindelwald to reply that with or without him, he'll burn down their world. [22] Filming Filming was set to begin on 16 March 2020 in London, but was postponed due to growing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

[23] Filming commenced on 20 September 2020. [24] In November, Johnny Depp announced that he fantastic beasts 3 to step down from his role of Gellert Grindelwald when asked to by Warner Bros. after he lost a domestic-violence related libel lawsuit in the English court system. Warner Bros. then announced the role would be re-cast and that the film had once again been delayed, this time to summer 2022.

[25] A new date of 15 July 2022 announced the following day. [26]A few weeks later, fantastic beasts 3 25 November 2020, Warner Bros. confirmed that Mads Mikkelsen (who'd been rumoured to have taken the role) would play the role of Grindelwald.

[27] In January 2021, British actor Richard Coyle said in an Instagram Q&A that he had been cast in the film and had been working on in it since September. However, he also said he was not allowed to disclose any details. [28] That May, the Fantastic Beasts Movie fansite reported from personal sources that fantastic beasts 3 would be playing Aberforth Dumbledore but this has yet to be officially confirmed.

However, he subsequently changed his Twitter location to "Hogsmeade". [29] On 11 February, German fantastic beasts 3 Oliver Masucci said in an interview that he'd been cast as the Head of the International Confederation of Wizards. Two days later on 13 February 2021, Bedfordshire Live reported that a Major new Warner Bros film was to be filmed in a village in Bedfordshire.

Warner Bros sent out letters to residents of the village that filming would take place between 18 February and 5 March of a "feature film". [30] Sometime after in February, James Newton Howard confirmed that filming had concluded and he started work on the score. [1] Later in May 2021, English actor Emilia Karlsson was added to the film's IMDb page as "Ministry Guest". A fluent German speaker, she is also credited as an on-set translator.

[31] Also in May 2021, Warner Bros. announced that Kevin Guthrie, who starred as Abernathy in the previous two films in the series had been fired from the project before production had started when he was charged for a sexual assault that happened in 2017. Due to the lack of official information on the film, it's unclear what will be done with the character.

In a July 2021 interview, [32] David Yates told the University of Essex that "on the latest film he's taken out 3, 4, 5 lovely scenes that we nurtured and cherished and shot and edited, put visual effects in, and you suddenly you reach that moment where you realise the story survives without it, and can actually thrive without the scene, is actually probably better without the scene when you remove it and it's a process always of just trying to find the best version of the story possible." He also said that 15 July 2022 is still the planned global release date for the film.

Later in the same week, the Portus fansite reported from a source that the film would be conducting its pre-planned reshoots the following month. [33] In September, Wilf Scolding was added to the film's IMDb page as " Workman". [34] Later on in the month, Warner Bros.

Principal photography was set to begin in early 2020, [5] but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, [6] eventually commencing in September 2020. Gellert Grindelwald's acolytes, led by Credence Barebone, attack and kill the mother and kidnap the newborn. Grindelwald subsequently kills the creature to harness its ability of precognition. However, unbeknownst to them, the Qilin had twins, the younger of which Newt saves. Unable to battle Grindelwald due to their blood pact, Albus Dumbledore recruits Newt, his brother Theseus, Ilvermorny Charms teacher Lally Hicks, Senegalese-French wizard Yusuf Kama, American No-Maj Jacob Kowalski and Newt's assistant Bunty Broadacre to thwart Grindelwald's plan for world domination.

Yusuf Kama is tagged to be a spy in Grindelwald's inner circle while the others are sent to Berlin, Germany. Once there, the group witness Grindelwald being acquitted of all criminal charges by the International Confederation of Wizards (ICW) and subsequently running for fantastic beasts 3 office of Supreme Mugwump.

The ICW believes arresting Grindelwald could gain him more support, but his being defeated in a legitimate election will erode his strength. Grindelwald's acolytes, who have undermined the German Ministry of Magic, arrest Theseus and plot to assassinate the Brazilian Supreme Mugwump candidate, Vicência Santos.

Dumbledore assigns Newt and Lally to rescue Theseus and foil the assassination. While Newt rescues his brother from the secret German wizarding prison, Lally and Jacob thwart the assassination attempt; however, Jacob is subsequently framed for attempting to kill Grindelwald, and he and Lally barely escape, giving Grindelwald a reason to turn the Wizarding world against all Muggles. Meanwhile, Grindelwald has sent Credence to assassinate Dumbledore.

Using necromancy to reanimate the Qilin he killed earlier, Grindelwald has it bow to him during the Walk of the Qilin ceremony, thus manipulating the election.

He immediately declares war on all Muggles and tortures Jacob for trying to assassinate him; however, Credence, Newt and Queenie Goldstein, who had joined and then renounced Grindelwald, expose him.

Bunty produces the surviving Qilin, which subsequently bows to Dumbledore. He declines the position and Santos is instead chosen as new Supreme Mugwump. Enraged, Grindelwald tries to kill Credence, who is protected by Albus and Aberforth.

Dumbledore's and Grindelwald's clashing spells break the blood pact that prevented them from attacking one another. The ensuing battle between the two reaches a stalemate, and Grindelwald disapparates. In the aftermath, Aberforth accepts the dying Credence and takes him home. Jacob and Queenie marry in the former's New York City bakery, with most of the group and Tina Fantastic beasts 3 in attendance.

In Germany, the film's $9.2 million debut was the best opening for Warner Bros. since 2019's Joker. [72] The film made $71.7 million in its second weekend.

This included openings of $7.1 million in both France and Mexico, the latter of which was the second-biggest opening for Warner Bros. during the pandemic. [73] It added $38.3 million in its third international weekend, crossing the $200 million worldwide mark. [74] It crossed the $300 million mark in its fourth weekend. As of 1 May 2022, the film's largest markets are Japan ($26.7 million), Germany ($25.7 million), the U.K.

($23.7 million), China ($21.4 million), and France ($16.9 million). [75] Critical response [ edit ] On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 47% based on 207 reviews, with an average rating of 5.5/10.

The website's critics consensus states: " Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore avoids some of the pitfalls that plagued its predecessor, but lacks much of the magic that drew audiences into the Wizarding World many movies ago." [76] Metacritic assigned the film a weighted average score of 47 out of 100 based on 49 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews".

[77] Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "B+" on an A+ to F scale, tied for the lowest of the franchise with The Crimes of Grindelwald, while those at PostTrak gave it an 81% positive score, with 63% saying they would definitely recommend it. [54] A particular focus of some reviews was praise for Mads Mikkelsen's performance as Grindelwald, with some critics praising it as superior to Johnny Depp in prior films.

[78] [79] [80] Future [ edit ] The Fantastic Beasts film series was initially speculated to be a trilogy, but in October 2016, Rowling announced that the series would be composed of five films, [81] later confirming that the story of the series would consist of a sequence of events that occurred between the years of 1926 and 1945.

[82] In February 2022, producer David Heyman revealed that work on the script for Fantastic Beasts 4 had not begun yet. [83] [84] In April 2022, Variety reported that Warner Bros.

greenlighting the final two instalments would be dependent on the critical and commercial performance of The Secrets of Dumbledore.

WARNING! Contains SPOILERS for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledorefinally addressed the Credence/Aurelius Dumbledore (Ezra Miller) twist, confirming Aurelius to be Aberforth's (Richard Coyle) long-lost son.

Ever since Johnny Depp's Gellert Grindelwald revealed Credence's identity as Aurelius Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, viewers have been criticizing the huge plot twist for its potential to hurt the Harry Potter canon. A fourth Dumbledore sibling was never mentioned before and considering the Dumbledores' parents were dead or in Azkaban at the time of Credence's birth in 1900/1901, it would have created a big plot hole.

However, it turns out Aurelius Dumbledore wasn't Albus (Jude Law) and Aberforth's brother - he was Aberforth's son. It was fantastic beasts 3 for quite some time whether Grindelwald had told Credence the truth about his identity, or if he was just lying in order to manipulate Credence into doing his bidding.

Grindelwald was indeed telling the truth or at least using his very strong intuition about Credence's identity to turn him against Albus Dumbledore. Grindelwald knew Credence was Aurelius Dumbledore from the moment he realized Credence was an Obscurial (much like Ariana Dumbledore), and that he had survived the Obscurus for so long (which meant that he came from a very powerful wizard bloodline).

However, Grindelwald didn't know the true beginnings of Credence's life, or whose son he actually was, so he filled in the gaps conveniently, telling Credence that Albus had abandoned him. It's in Fantastic Beasts 3 that Credence finally learns the truth about his identity and that Aberforth never abandoned him - he lost him. Related: Harry Potter: Dumbledore Is Responsible For Hogwarts’ Most Bitter Character Aurelius Dumbledore being Aberforth's son fits within the Harry Potter canon and is a good, logical explanation for the identity twist, unlike Credence being a fourth Dumbledore sibling (creating a hurtful retcon/plot hole) or Grindelwald simply fabricating the story (it was too big a plot twist to simply turn back from it).

Of course, one might ask why then was Aberforth's son never mentioned in the Harry Potter books or movies, but Aberforth's character was only developed towards the end of the series. Still, the reveal that Credence is Aberforth's son is significant for both Fantastic Beasts 3, the franchise's future, and Harry Potter canon. Fantastic Beasts 3 Twist Explained: Credence Is Aberforth Dumbledore's Son Grindelwald had pitted Credence against Albus by telling him he had been abandoned by his own family - worse, by his own brother.

But apart from Credence's identity, none of this fantastic beasts 3 true. In Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Credence attempts to kill Albus but fails. As the phoenix bird's ashes drop onto him, Albus knows for certain that Credence is in fact Aurelius, Aberforth's long-lost son. Furthermore, he also realizes the phoenix is staying by his side because he is dying as a result of his Obscurus curse.

He thus assures Aurelius that they simply didn't know where he was and that they had never abandoned him. Once Aurelius understands he has been lied to, he wastes no time in betraying the dark wizard.

He lies to him about only finding fantastic beasts 3 qilin (the key magical creature in Fantastic Beasts 3) and he lets Newt and Aberforth know he wants to come home via Aberforth's magical two-way mirror in Hog's Head Inn. Aberforth himself is reluctant at first, but together with his fantastic beasts 3 brother, he locates Aurelius and invites him home. When his son asks, "Did you ever think of me?", Aberforth replies with an all-too-familiar "Always." When Did Aberforth Dumbledore Have A Son?

Dumbledore tells Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) that in 1899, during the same summer that Albus fell in love with Grindelwald, Aberforth also fell in love with a woman from Godric's Hollow.

They had a baby boy together, but the woman was sent away before she gave birth, and Aberforth never got to be a father. Aurelius was thus born in 1900 or 1901 when Aberforth would have been around 17 years old.

In 1901, Aurelius made it across the ocean to New York City, after young Leta Lestrange swapped her baby brother Corvus for him and he miraculously survived the ship sinking. Related: Fantastic Beasts: Why Grindelwald's War Ends The Same Time As WWII What Happened To Credence's Mother?

It's unknown whether Credence/Aurelius' mother was fantastic beasts 3 the ship that sank on its way to New York. The woman that appears as Credence's carer among Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald's characters (and is played by Linda Santiago) was credited as "Credence's aunt" - whether this is true (and her sister was with her on the ship or had stayed behind in the UK) or she was actually his mother is still unclear.

What is clear, though, is that she did drown along with most of the ship's passengers, while Credence, Leta, and Irma Dugard (Danielle Hugues) survived the ordeal. How Credence & Aberforth Communicate Via A Mirror In Fantastic Beasts 3 This isn't the first time Aberforth skillfully uses a magical mirror. In Fantastic beasts 3 Potter and Fantastic beasts 3 Deathly Hallows, Aberforth watches Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) through a two-way mirror.

When Harry desperately asks the mirror (which he believed showed Albus' eyes) for help at the Malfoy Manor, Aberforth sends Dobby to their aid and arguably saves their lives. Much like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' two-way mirror, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore shows Aberforth using yet another: the big mirror behind the bar in his inn, Hog's Head Inn.

Aberforth first uses the mirror to ask Credence for his forgiveness - Credence sees the message appear at Grindelwald's base and quickly becomes aware he is speaking to family. Credence replies by asking Aberforth, "Do you know what it's like to be alone?" and Albus sees this, so he starts piecing the puzzle together.

Finally, Credence lets Aberforth know he wants to come home and Newt (who has just saved his brother's life) sees the message in the mirror, so he lets Albus know and thus finds out (together with fantastic beasts 3 viewers) the story, or the secret, of Aberforth and Aurelius Dumbledore.

What's not explained is exactly how the two-way mirror works, though it's presumably a similar magic to the one Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) gave Harry; Aberforth knew how to use that mirror, and while it worked a little differently - actually seeing the person rather than written communication - it might be how he knew what it was and how it could reach Harry. Quite how the Hog's Head mirror is linked to one in Grindelwald's fortress is less clear, though may be because of the connection between Credence and Aberforth than the mirrors themselves being specifically linked.

Why Was Aberforth Dumbledore's Son Never Mentioned In Harry Potter? Aberforth's character appeared in the Harry Potter series quite late, Albus first mentioning him in The Goblet of Fire, and making his first brief appearance in The Order of Phoenix. It's not until The Deathly Hallows that the character is fully developed, as Harry, Ron (Rupert Grint), and Hermione (Emma Watson) discover he is operating a tunnel into Hogwarts from The Hog's Head Inn.

During their conversation, Aberforth discusses his older brother and Ariana (in the movie, he only explains fantastic beasts 3 was one of the "things" Dumbledore sacrificed in his pursuit of power). Given even Ariana is only briefly mentioned, it does make sense that Credence wasn't at all. Related: Everything JK Rowling Already Revealed About Fantastic Beasts' Ending Aberforth is a quiet, secretive man: he answers Harry's questions about the Dumbledore family, but never says more.

Since Harry didn't know Aberforth had a son (and Albus didn't find it relevant for Harry in the context of the Second Wizarding War), it makes sense neither brother mentioned Credence. In Fantastic Beasts 3, Albus himself explains Credence's absence from their lives when he tells Newt: "Had I been a better friend to Aberforth, had I been a better brother, he might have confided in me.

Perhaps things would have been different. This boy could have been part of our lives, part of our family." Whatever happens in Fantastic Beasts 4 (should it get made), it's clear Aberforth didn't get to spend a lot of time with his son. How Credence Being Aberforth's Fantastic beasts 3 Changes Harry Potter Fantastic beasts 3 Aberforth having a son was never mentioned in the Harry Potter series, so it will be interesting to see how Fantastic Beasts will continue to explore Aberforth and Credence's relationship without breaking the Harry Fantastic beasts 3 canon.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore was Aberforth's first opportunity to shine as a character. Aberforth and Credence's story even gave deeper meaning to The Secrets of Dumbledore's title: it's not just a film about Albus Dumbledore, it's a film about the whole family. It's a smart retcon after The Crimes of Grindelwald, since it avoids hurting too much.

It does, however, reframe certain events, with Aberforth's bitterness towards his brother over his secrecy feeling somewhat different in light of his own secrets. The last two Fantastic Beasts movies can develop Aurelius Dumbledore's character, but the creators must tread lightly: if Aberforth and Credence becomes too big a story (and if Credence survives the fifth movie), the Harry Potter canon will definitely suffer a negative impact.
