„ ~ Tanjiro Points a Cobalt Blue Tanjiro Kamado ( 竈門 炭治郎) is the main protagonist of the prominent anime/manga series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is also the older brother of Nezuko Kamado and is the oldest child of the Kamado family.
He is a Kanoe ranked Demon Slayer and a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. He became a Demon Slayer in order to find a way to turn Nezuko back tanjuro kamado a human, and hunt down the demon who is responsible for the murder of his family and tanjuro kamado sister's transformation into one. He is voiced by Natsuki Hanae (with Satomi Satō providing his voice as a child) in Japanese, and by Zach Aguilar (with Allegra Clark providing his voice as a child) in English.

He possesses ruffled burgundy hair that casts notably dark shadows on itself, combed back to expose his forehead, and wide, dark eyes with white pupils that appear dark pink around the lower section of their irises.
He also has a birthmark on the top left of his forehead, which originally looked somewhat like a graze until his fight with the Hand Demon during the Final Selection Arc, after which it appears more like a large, dark red scar. It is noted that his hands are visibly tougher than someone his ages should be as a result of his rigorous training under Sakonji Urokodaki. Tanjiro wears a checkered tanjuro kamado turquoise and black patterned haori over the standard Demon Hunter uniform, which consists of a dark brown gakuran jacket, a white belt tanjuro kamado his waist and baggy pants that extend into tabi socks, as well as zōri and bands of white cloth wrapped around his calves.
He also wears a pair of hanafuda earrings, decorated by a red sun symbol, and carries a large wooden box on his back, where his sister sleeps during the day. Personality Tanjiro is kind by nature and has been described by others as having very gentle eyes. He exhibits a great deal of determination tanjuro kamado will not give up once he has a goal to achieve; the best example of this is his relentless quest to find a cure for Nezuko.
Even though he is relatively strong on his own, Tanjiro isn't opposed to asking others for help when he needs it. Tanjuro kamado is very protective of his friends and even more so of his younger sister. However, despite his kind and understanding nature, Tanjiro does have a limit to his tolerance and has a distaste for rudeness, as he easily becomes annoyed by Zenitsu Agatsuma's constant whining, and angered by Inosuke Hashibira's barbaric actions.
Tanjiro's most notable attribute is his ability to empathize with anyone, even demons, which often made him hesitate before delivering the final blow. This moment of hesitation has a downside, as it has allowed some Demons to take advantage of Tanjiro's understanding nature to recover and continue the fight, though this occurs rarely.
However, as Tanjiro gained experience over the years of his service, he becomes more calculating and strict in his decisions. His courage to protect the weak commits him to face his enemy with respect and dignity, whether versus good people or evil Demons. Powers and Abilities Before becoming a Demon Slayer. Hard Skull: Tanjiro has a hard skull he inherited from his mother. His head is very durable to the point in a single headbutt, it's physically strong enough to cause immediate damage to his opponents.
One example is where he manages to stun Sanemi, the Wind Hashira. Enhanced Smell: Tanjiro possesses a heightened sense of smell bordering into supernatural territory. Even before becoming a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro was known in a village as the boy who has an extremely strong sense of smell.
He is able to pick up even the most subtle of scents and track their location with terrifying accuracy over long distances. It is strong enough for him to smell the 'opening thread', the slight pause in an enemy's movement which allows him an opening in which to strike.
Enhanced Strength: Immense Stamina & Endurance: Tanjiro has incredible stamina and endurance, even before he became a Demon Slayer, showed when he had to train in a mountain will little to no oxygen for many days, dodging booby traps, running and traversing through it up tanjuro kamado down, and improving his swordsmanship skills and physique all while under these harsh conditions.
His stamina and endurance was further improved having mastered Total Concentration: Constant (・ Zen Shūchū Jōchū ?), allowing him to exert himself physically 24/7. He was able to rejoin the fight against Daki and Gyutaro despite him nearly crossing his life limit just minutes prior. His stamina was increased even further after he mastered the Hinokami Kagura, the same Breathing Style which allowed his sickly father to dance till dawn in the snow while barely clothed.
Demon Slayer Mark: Tanjiro awakens his mark for the first time while fighting Upper Rank Six, Gyutaro, and once again against the split forms of Tanjuro kamado, the Upper Rank Four. Later, the mark reappears during his rematch against Upper Rank 3, Akaza. In his marked state, Tanjiro's strength, speed, and reaction time increase drastically. In his fight with Akaza, after gaining access to the Transparent World in addition to his Demon Slayer mark, Tanjiro can move fast enough to cut off Akaza's head without giving him any time to react, a move which would've killed Akaza if it wasn't for him overcoming his weakness to Nichirin Sword decapitation.
However, it should be noted Akaza's compass detection ability relied on him sensing battle spirit from his opponent, and Tanjiro was able to show no battle spirit while performing this attack. The drawback to his marked state is that Tanjiro can only enter it on rare occasions, and he can only use it for a very short period since it causes exhaustion to his body as proven in his battles against the Upper Ranks.
• Bright Red Nichirin Sword: Tanjiro first unlocked this ability after Nezuko Kamado lit his sword on fire using her pyrokinetic Blood Demon Art, which gave tanjuro kamado an edge over Hantengu's clones. During his second battle against Muzan, Tanjiro gains the ability to dye his Nichirin Sword in a bright red color by himself after nearly dying and mastering the Sun Breathing and later awakened it one final time with the help of Giyu to drive Muzan into a corner and hamper tanjuro kamado instantaneous regeneration.
• Transparent World: Like his father, he gained the ability to foresee the opponent's attack by analyzing and perceiving his opponents' blood flow, muscles, skeletal/joint alignment, and organs.
In this state, his movement intuition and evasion speed increased dramatically. He accessed this state by remembering his father's words and used them in the midst of battle to defeat Akaza.
Although he has learned how to use it, he is not completely proficient in it as shown when he had trouble perceiving it during his fight against Muzan.
• Selfless Tanjuro kamado As he unlocked the Transparent World, Tanjiro also learned the ability to completely erase his presence from the battlefield from his father, including all his fighting spirit. This ability allowed Tanjiro to completely negate/bypass Akaza's extrasensory perception thanks to his Technique Development, Destructive Death: Compass Needle technique and decapitate tanjuro kamado.
This technique can also mask one's intent to kill and malice, allowing them to fight undetectable tanjuro kamado enemies' that rely on sensing one's intention to fight.
Repetitive Action: A technique practiced by few members in the Corps, it allows a person to achieve the same effects as Total Concentration Breathing by using repeating pre-set movements or remembering intense feelings to open the five senses and raise their concentration, drawing out the physical powers of the body for a long extended period. It is possible tanjuro kamado use both Repetitive Action and Total Concentration Breathing simultaneously, granting the user immense strength able to rival Upper Rank demons.
Tanjiro learned this technique after consulting Genya Shinazugawa. He raises his concentration to its maximum limits by remembering the faces of his loved ones and repeatedly recalling Kyojuro Rengoku's phrase "Set your heart ablaze." Water Breathing ( 水の呼吸Mizu no kokyū): Taught to him by Sakonji, a previous Water Hashira and, Water Breathing Cultivator.
This was Tanjiro's initial breathing style before he switches to the Hinokami Kagura, a breathing style taught to him by his father during his childhood, which he states is more suited to him.
However, during the course where he used Water Breathing, he has become extremely proficient, enabling him to take on two members of the Twelve Kizuki, Rui and Enmu. • First Form: Water Surface Slash ( 壱ノ型 水面斬りIchi no kata: Minamo Giri) - The user generates enough momentum to create a powerful single concentrated slash.
• Second Form: Water Wheel ( 弐ノ型 水車Ni no kata: Mizu Guruma) - The user leaps and vertically spins forward in the air while releasing a flowing attack in a circular motion. • Second Form: Improved, Lateral Water Wheel ( 弐ノ型・改 横水車Ni no kata kai: Yoko Mizu Guruma) - An alternate variation of Second Form: Water Wheel created by Tanjiro Kamado that unleashes a horizontal spin instead of a vertical one.
• Third Form: Flowing Dance ( 参ノ型 流流舞いSan no kata: Ryūryū Mai) - The user swings and bends their blade in a winding motion along with their body and dances in a flowing pattern, slicing everything in its path. • Fourth Form: Striking Tide ( 肆ノ型 打ち潮 Shi no kata: UchishioFourth Form: Striking Tide) - The user makes multiple consecutive slashes while twisting their body and sword in a flowing fashion to deliver multiple blows tanjuro kamado.
• Striking Tide: Turbulent ( 打ち潮・乱Uchishio - Ran) - An improved version of the Fourth Form: Striking Tide. The user increases the quantity of consecutive strikes and slashes along with improving its accuracy in order to contact a specific target during a chaotic situation. • Fifth Form: Blessed Rain After the Drought ( 伍ノ型 干天の慈雨Go no kata: Kanten tanjuro kamado Jiu) - The user changes the grip on their sword and decapitates the opponent in a single flowing strike that causes little to no pain.
It is a “sword strike of kindness” used when the enemy willingly surrenders. • Sixth Form: Whirlpool ( 陸ノ型 ねじれ渦Roku no kata: Nejire Tanjuro kamado - The user fiercely twists their upper and lower body, creating a whirlpool of air that cuts anything caught in it. Its effect and efficiently is enhanced underwater, where the user can draw water around their weapon to enhance their slashes.
• Whirlpool, Flow ( ねじれ・流流 Nejire Uzu - RyūryūWhirlpool, Flow) - A combination of Third Form: Flowing Dance and Sixth Form: Whirlpool created by Tanjiro Kamado. The user combines the footwork from Flowing Dance and the twisting movements of Whirlpool, resulting in the swordsman to perform an attack around the user and conjure a twisting, swirling, vicious flow of water to redirect projectiles from multiple angles.
• Seventh Form: Drop Ripple Thrust ( 漆ノ型 雫波紋突き Shichi no kata: Shizuku Hamon TsukiSeventh Form: Drop Ripple Thrust) - The user performs a fast and accurate stab, capable of reducing the impact of a moving target.
• Drop Ripple Thrust, Curve ( 雫波紋突き・曲Shizuku Hamon Tsuki - Kyoku) - A modified strike that hits from a specific angle corresponding to the sword's structure which nearly nullifies the impact and momentum of a moving object. • Eighth Form: Waterfall Basin ( 捌ノ型 瀧壼Hachi no kata: Takitsubo) - The user cuts the target vertically in a flowing motion which is most effective when they are falling tanjuro kamado.
• Ninth Form: Splashing Water Flow, Turbulent ( 玖ノ型 水流飛沫・乱Ku no kata: Suiryū Shibuki - Ran) - The user changes their footwork in a way that minimizes the landing time and surface needed when landing, allowing the user to move without limits.
Ideal when fighting in a place with no solid foothold. • Tenth Form: Constant Flux ( 拾ノ型 生生流転Jū no kata: Seisei Ruten) - The user performs a continuous flowing attack which seemingly takes the form of a water dragon that increases in strength and power with each rotation due to momentum. Hinokami Kagura ( ヒノカミ神楽Hinokami Kagura): During his near-death experience in his battle with Rui, Tanjuro kamado awakened this in a memory of his father teaching him this breathing style.
At that time, Tanjiro's body was not physically suited to the strain tanjuro kamado the breathing style took on him, but through many adversities, he finally managed to master it. When Tanjiro fully witnessed the Thirteenth Form performed by Yoriichi Tsugikuni and gained consciousness, he awakened the Hinokami Kagura into the legendary Sun Breathing ( 日の呼吸Hi no kokyū). • First Form: Dance ( 円舞Enbu) - The user delivers a single high-powered vertical slash. • Dancing Flash ( 円舞一閃Enbu Issen) - A modified version of Dance developed and utilized only by Tanjiro Kamado.
The user infuses the Thunderclap and Flash technique of Thunder Breathing into the high-powered slash of Dance by inhaling huge amounts of oxygen, increasing the pumping of blood through the entire body, focusing it on the legs, and releasing it all to assault the target with a slash.
This technique was capable of outspeeding Genya Shinazugawa, Nezuko Tanjuro kamado, as well as the fleeing Hantengu. Tanjuro kamado technique is said to be slower than Zenitsu Agatsuma's Thunderclap and Flash.
• Second Form: Clear Blue Sky ( 碧羅の天Heki-ra no Ten) - The user spins their body vertically to deliver a 360° slash. • Third Form: Raging Sun ( 烈日紅鏡Retsujitsu Kōkyō) - The user unleashes two horizontal slashes to hit or defend from incoming attacks.
• Fourth Form: Burning Bones, Summer Sun ( 灼骨炎陽Shakkotsu En'yō) - The user unleashes a large circular slash that defends from imminent frontal attacks. • Fifth Form: Setting Sun Transformation ( 斜陽転身Shayō Tenshin) The user backflips into the air to deliver a powerful upended sword slash. • Sixth Form: Solar Heat Haze tanjuro kamado 飛輪陽炎Hirin Kagerō) - Tanjuro kamado user charges towards the target, unleashing a horizontal slash seemingly covered in haze that fails to land, but actually does hit the target.
• Seventh Form: Beneficent Radiance ( 輝輝恩光Kiki Onkō) - The user spirals into the air and delivers a powerful slash that surrounds the enemy. • Eighth Form: Sunflower Thrust ( 陽華突Yōkatotsu) - The user unleashes a single thrust attack with the point of the blade. • Ninth Form: Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance ( 日暈の龍・頭舞いNichiun no Ryū Kaburimai) - The user unleashes a continuous fast and powerful sword attack that seemingly takes the form of a flaming sun dragon.
This technique is capable of decapitating multiple enemies at once. • Tenth Form: Fire Wheel ( 火車Kasha) - The user leaps behind the opponent and spins in the air downward, releasing a sword attack in a circular motion. • Eleventh Form: Fake Rainbow ( 幻日虹Gen'nichi Kō) - The user performs high-speed twists and rotations, thus creating afterimages used mostly to evade attacks.
The afterimages work most effectively on enemies with good vision. • Twelfth Form: Flame Dance ( 炎舞Enbu) - A two-combo strike that starts with a vertical slash and then a horizontal one right after. • Thirteenth Form ( 拾参ノ型Jū San no kata) - The user continuously performs all twelve forms of Sun Breathing in repetitive succession to increase the accuracy and agility of his movements while reducing fatigue.
This form was created solely for the purpose of killing Muzan, since the repetition of all twelve forms aims to destroy Muzan's twelve vital organs (seven hearts and five brains) that move freely inside his body thanks to his shape-shifting ability.
Quotes “ Muzan Kibutsuji! No matter where you go, I promise you won't escape me! You can run as far as you want! I'll follow you to the ends of Hell, and my blade will be the last thing you see! I'll never forgive you for what you've done!
„ ~ Tanjiro Kamado swearing vengeance to Muzan Kibutsuji. “ Killing humans is unforgivable. „ ~ Tanjiro Kamado “ If you can't differentiate the good Demons from the bad ones, you should quit being a Pillar!!
„ ~ Tanjiro Kamado berating Sanemi Shinazugawa for not understanding the difference between good tanjuro kamado bad demons. “ I wish I could stay here forever. I wish I could turn around and go back. By right, I should've been living like this forever. Right here. If none of this had happened.
they'd all be alive and well now. And Nezuko would've lived in the sunlight, under a blue sky. If none of this had happened. If none of this had happened. I should be here making charcoal every day.
I never would've laid my hand on a sword. If none of this had happened. If none of this had happened. But I've lost them now. [.] I can never go back.
Sorry!
I'm sorry, Rokuta! We can never be together anymore. But I'll always think of you, okay? I'll be thinking of you all. There are lots of things to thank you for.
Lots of things to be sorry for! But I will never forget you! No matter what, my heart will always be with you! „ ~ Tanjiro Kamado thinking about his family. Trivia • Kamado, without the second kanji (竈, かまど) is a traditional Japanese wood or charcoal-fueled cookstove/furnace.
• Do, the second kanji of his family name, (門, ど) means door. • Tan (炭, たん) means charcoal. • Ji (治, じ) can mean 'to heal'. • Rō (郎, ろう) is a common Japanese name suffix for boys. • Tanjiro's transgression as a Demon was foreshadowed a few times in the manga: • During his fight with Daki and Gyutaro, Tanjiro thought that should he ever turn into a Demon, someone in the Demon Slayer Corps would behead him.
• On the cover of the first volume's catchphrase was - "To kill a Demon, then to kill oneself." This means the author of Demon Slayer, Koyoharu Gotouge, intended to have Tanjiro Demonized all along. • The catchphrase of the manga and anime - "日本一慈しい鬼退治" (roughly translates as: Exterminate the kind Demon in Japan). This could be interpreted into two ways: one is 'to exterminate Demons kindly', and the other way being 'to exterminate kind Demons'.
Exterminating Demons while having sympathy towards them was what Tanjiro had been doing; and then Tanjiro, whose conduct had been being kind to everybody, was a Demon in a cruelly paradoxical manner. • Tanjiro is the only character in Demon Slayer to have two Breathing Styles. • Tanjiro is the only student of Sakonji Tanjuro kamado who defeated the Hand Demon.
• Tanjiro is one of the few Breathing Style users who was turned into a demon. • Tanjiro Kamado fought battled Tanjuro kamado Joestar from JoJo in ScrewAttack's DEATH BATTLE and lost. Demon Slayer Mark: As a descendant of the Kamado family and being able to access the "Transparent World", Tanjuro's birthmark on his forehead is secretly a Demon Slayer Mark.
This is proven by Shinjuro's explanation that all Sun Breathing users naturally have a mark on their forehead. • Transparent World: It is revealed that Tanjuro had the ability to foresee his opponent's attacks by seeing their blood flow, muscles and joint movement. Selfless State: Throughout his entire life, Tanjuro emanated absolutely no sense of drive, hatred, anger, fighting spirit, animosity or fear even in dire situations such as him succumbing to his death or facing against an enormous bear.

Quotes • (To Tanjiro Kamado) " Thank you, Tanjiro. But for the last few years I haven't felt the Kagura was difficult. It's strange. When I first just learned the Kagura from your grandfather I was younger, healthier and stronger than now.
but back then, I ran out of breath and found it hard. I suppose that was because I made a lot of unnecessary movements. What's important is proper breathing and proper control, making the most efficient moves to exert the greatest amount of strength.
When you do that. your head gradually becomes clear." [2] • (To Tanjiro Kamado) " In the beginning, you must learn the moves and sensibilities. You must pick them up. You open your five senses, becoming conscious of your own body down to each and every blood vessel. This period is truly strenuous, and you will think that no matter how much you struggle, you will not be able to go further.
After you have learned and absorbed many things, you cut away what is unnecessary. You leave only what is necessary in your movement and close yourself." [3] • (To a large bear) " I'm sorry you're hungry but I will not let you come any closer. I will show no mercy to anyone who would harm my family. no matter the odds. But, the series has offered us a variety of other intriguing characters who do not belong to the two aforementioned groups. One such character is Tanjuro Kamado, the father of Tanjiro Kamado, and in this article, we are going to introduce you to him and his role in the story. Tanjuro’s role was pivotal to Tanjiro’s evolution and this article will explain everything you need to know about it.
Tanjuro Kamado was the husband of Kie Kamado and the father of Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Takeo Kamado, Hanako Kamado, Shigeru Kamado and Rokuta Kamado. Tanjuro seemed to have some connection to the demon slayer world and was a wise man, but sick and frail.
He died some time before the massacre of his wife and youngest children but still manages to inspire his two surviving children. The rest of this article is going to focus on Tanjuro Kamado and all of the aspects related to his character, including his role in the story, his history, his family, and his influence on Tanjiro. Tanjuro Kamado has a lot to offer in terms of powers and abilities, which is why we reckoned that he deserved proper treatment in a standalone article. How did Tanjiro’s dad die?
Is Tanjiro’s dad a demon slayer? Tanjuro Kamado is a very intriguing character. As we are going to see in the paragraphs that follow, he was tanjuro kamado amazingly strong and skilled character. His powers and abilities were certainly on the level of a demon slayer (and a higher ranking one, not one of the lower ranks) but he himself was not a demon slayer during his lifetime. It is possible that his disease is at fault for that or, because he knew the Hinokami Kagura, there was no need for him to leave his family, but tanjuro kamado it is, Tanjuro Kamado was not a demon slayer.
Tanjuro Kamado: Powers and abilities As a descendant of the Kamado family and with the ability to enter the “Transparent World,” Tanjuro’s birthmark on his forehead was secretly a Demon Slayer Mark. This proves Shinjuro’s explanation that all Sun Breathing users naturally have a mark on their forehead. It turns out that Tanjuro had the ability to predict his opponents’ attacks by seeing their blood flow, muscles, and joint movements.
Throughout his life, Tanjuro did not radiate any urges, hatred, anger, fighting spirit, hostility or fear, not even in dire situations such as death or fighting a giant bear.
This is strongly inspired by Yoriichi Tsugikuni’s ability to stop his fighting spirit/bloodthirst for battle. For a non-demon slayer, Tanjuro had tremendous stamina. He was able to practice the ritual dance Hinokami Kagura from dusk to dawn without any break, despite his illness, weak body, and freezing environment.
Is Tanjiro’s dad strong? Although there isn’t much information about his strength, Tanjuro is said to have had very strong arms. He was able to hide the presence of his fighting spirit and see through his enemies’ abilities, severing their head with one punch. For example, he once wakes Tanjuro kamado in the middle of the night to watch him tanjuro kamado and kill a bear with a simple rusty ax.
RELATED: Tanjiro’s Sun Breathing Ability in Demon Slayer Explained Tanjuro was shown to be a phenomenally strong individual despite not being a demon slayer and having a tragic disease that made his body incredibly frail. As said, he was able to slay a bear more than two meters tall without even wielding a Nichirin Sword at speeds magnitudes faster than the blink of an eye.
Is Tanjiro’s dad related to Yoriichi? Yoriichi Tsugikuni was a legendary Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps during the Sengoku Era. Yoriichi is the younger twin brother of Michikatsu Tsugikuni, who later became a demon and joined the Twelve Kizuki, serving as the Upper Moon Tanjuro kamado.
Yoriichi is the creator of the Sun Breathing Style and is today considered to be the greatest Demon Slayer in history, and the franchise’s strongest character.
He was the only character Muzan was genuinely afraid of. The question of there being a direct relation between Tanjiro’s family and Yoriichi is an often-posed one but the answer is quite simple – Yoriichi and Tanjiro’s family are not related in any way. But, someone close to Yoriichi is.
We shall now give you the details of this story. After his banishment, Yoriichi decided he had a lot on his mind and wanted someone to talk tanjuro kamado.
He could only imagine his friends Sumiyoshi and Suyako and decided to visit them. He meets Sumiyoshi, sits down with him, and tells him his whole story, from his beginnings to his banishment from the Demon Slayer Corps. Remembering his tragedies and speaking of his regret for leaving Muzan alive and the countless deaths that would follow, Yoriichi became dejected.
Sumire, Sumiyoshi’s daughter, arrives just then to ask for a hug. At Sumiyoshi’s request, he lifts her up, causing her to laugh and scream in joy, causing him to burst into tears and kiss her. Suyako, Sumiyoshi’s wife, arrives soon after to comfort him, offer Yoriichi a meal, and cheer him up. While with the Kamados, Suyako would have Yoriichi perform the Hinokami Kagura.
He did it gently, performing every move with such grace that he was compared more to a spirit than a human. Sumiyoshi would watch these demonstrations carefully and keep them in his memories. During his last visit, despite saying he was welcome anytime, Yoriichi gave Sumiyoshi his own Hanafuda earrings.
Sumiyoshi and Suyako then realized that would be the last time he would see them. Overwhelmed with emotion, Sumiyoshi called out to Yoriichi as he walked away, calling on him to stop saying he was a worthless man. He recalled that he had saved them and he expressed his promise to preserve the forms of the Hinokami Kagura dance through his descendants. Hearing this, Yoriichi turns around and smiles brightly, thanking the Kamados and waving them goodbye. Despite the seemingly limited lifespan of 25 years suffered by those who bore the Mark of the Demon Slayer, Yoriichi lived into his 80s but eventually went blind as he continued to slay demons.
He would ultimately perish while fighting his brother, who had – in the meantime – become the demon Kokushibo. Sumiyoshi is a distant descendant of Tanjiro’s. While it is now know how exactly they are related, it is known that they are. Sumiyoshi was the first known used of the Sun Breathing Style alongside Yoriichi and he really did fulfill his promise to Yoriichi, passing the technique down from generation tanjuro kamado generation until it finally reached Tanjiro.
Now, Yoriichi and Sumiyoshi were not directly related, which – in turn – means that Tanjiro and Tanjuro Kamado were not related to Yoriichi. But, Sumiyoshi was Yoriichi’s only true friend and the kindness of the Kamado family is what helped Yoriichi to overcome his doubts. This is why Yoriichi’s story is intrinsically tied to the story of tanjuro kamado Kamado family, despite there being no direct relation between them.
This story happened many years before we actually see Tanjiro and it wasn’t really something that the Kamado family often spoke of; maybe it would have, but most of them died by the time Tanjuro and Nezuko were a bit older. In the paragraphs that follow, we shall give you some more information related to Tanjuro’s and Tanjiro’s identical scar, as well as how Tanjuro’s story ultmately ended.
Why do Tanjiro and his dad have the same scar? The scar we saw on tanjuro kamado Tanjuro’s and Tanjiro’s foreheads was not actually a scar, but – as we have explained – the Demon Slayer Mark. It is a mysterious mark that can be obtained and tanjuro kamado appear on the body of a tanjuro kamado Demon Slayer.
But, Tanjuro was not a demon slayer, and even Tanjiro became one after a series of tragic events, so how did they have it? This seems to be a result of the Kamados’ connection to the Sun Breathing style. Namely, it is said that all Sun Breathing users have a Demon Slayer Mark, which shows that they are both extremely powerful and people with extreme potential.
Now, Tanjuro was not a demon slayer so he never activated his Mark, but he certainly did benefit from it, just like Tanjiro (before the latter actually activated it). This is why the two of them actually have tanjuro kamado same scar – it is a birthmark that shows their enormous power and potential, which is why it is present in both.
How did Tanjiro’s dad die? Tanjuro tanjuro kamado from a disease that makes his skin look dull and pale. At some point in his life, Tanjuro married Kie and had their six children. Tanjuro seemed to have some connection to the demon slayer world, but that was never fully explored. In his later years, he was a wise man, but sick and frail. He died at some point before the massacre of his wife and youngest children at the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji, but still managed to inspire his two surviving children, especially Tanjiro.
Post navigation An original manga illustration of Tanjiro by Koyoharu Gotouge First appearance Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba chapter 1: Cruelty (2016) Created by Koyoharu Gotouge Voiced by Japanese Natsuki Hanae [1] Satomi Satō (child) [2] English Zach Aguilar [1] Allegra Clark (child) [3] In-universe information Occupation charcoal burner (formerly) demon slayer Relatives Tanjuro Kamado (Father, Deceased) Kie Kamado (Mother, Deceased) Nezuko Kamado (Younger Sister) Takeo Kamado (Younger Brother, Deceased) Hanako Kamado (Younger Sister, Deceased) Shigeru Kamado (Younger Brother, Deceased) Rokuta Kamado (Younger Brother, Deceased) Kanao Tsuyuri (Wife) Tanjiro Kamado ( Japanese: 竈門 炭次郎, Hepburn: Kamado Tanjirō) is a fictional character and the main protagonist in Koyoharu Gotouge's manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Tanjiro is a teenager who goes on a quest to restore the humanity of his sister, Nezuko, who was turned into a demon after his family was killed by Muzan Kibutsuji following an attack that resulted in the death of his other relatives. After an encounter with Giyu Tomioka, a demon slayer, Tanjiro is recruited by Giyu to also become a demon slayer to help his sister turn human again and avenge his family.
Besides Ufotable's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime adaptation, Tanjiro has also appeared in a light novel that acts as a prequel to the manga.
Gotouge tanjuro kamado Tanjiro following a suggestion from their editor of having a bright main character who would stand out in his dark narrative. His design was influenced by Himura Kenshin from Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga Rurouni Kenshin when deciding how androgynous the character should look. The character is primarily voiced by Natsuki Hanae in Japanese and Zach Aguilar in English.
The character has been well received by manga and anime critics due to his caring nature and relationship with his sister while also becoming a strong fighter. This has led to the character winning multiple awards based on his popularity with Hanae's performance as him also receiving one.
Aguilar's performance was also well-received. Early sketches of Nezuko and Tanjiro Tanjiro Kamado originates from Koyoharu Gotouge's ideas involving a one-shot with Japanese motifs. Tatsuhiko Katayama, their editor, was worried about the one-shot crusade being too dark for the young demographic and asked Gotouge if they could write another type of tanjuro kamado main character who would be "brighter". [4] Gotouge has cited issues in the making of the character due to the contrast he has with the dark narrative.
For the release of the manga's seventh chapter, Gotouge drew a cover of Tanjiro wielding his sword while smiling. However, due to the contrasting aesthetics the manga had, they discarded the drawing and instead drew a similar design with Tanjiro having a serious expression.
[5] In the initial design, Tanjiro did not have a scar or wear earrings, but in the end, they felt these features accentuated the character. In the making of the cast, Tanjiro had four supporting characters who would balance each other due to their different skills. The editor commented about Tanjiro, "[He] is a type of male main character that you don't see much.
He's tanjuro kamado kind. He has Nezuko, so he's coming from this position where he can't just say all demons are absolute evil. He's in the gray zone." Tanjiro's design was also influenced by Gotouge's editor: he suggested giving Tanjiro a facial scar in his forehead inspired by Himura Kenshin from Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga Rurouni Kenshin while also giving him earrings to balance how androgynous he would look.
[4] Yuma Takahashi, the producer behind the adaptation of the manga said he enjoyed Tanjiro's role in the manga, making him engaged in reading the series. For how Tanjiro's Water Breathing was portrayed, Ufotable received inspiration from Katsushika Hokusai's ukiyo-e style. The first fight scene between Tanjiro and Giyu was also carefully animated to give viewers an appealing choreography.
[6] Tanjiro's water-based techniques were created using a mix between hand-drawn animation and CGI, while his battle against Rui was one of the most worked scenes in the making. Takahashi also said that Tanjiro is his most relatable character from the series due to how his constant hard work inspires him. [7] The anime uses an insert theme song titled " Kamado Tanjiro no Uta" It expresses the determination of the Tanjiro, who stands up from despair and struggles to protect his younger sister.
[8] Tanjiro's Rising Sun Flag-like earrings were altered in China to avoid offending the audience. When the anime series premiered in China, Tanjiro's design was slightly altered. Due to his piercings having Rising Sun style elements, it was feared it would offend the Mainland leading to brief retouches to them. [9] Voice actors [ edit ] Tanjiro has been voiced by Natsuki Hanae in Japanese.
Hanae noted that multiple responses to his career involved him portraying sad characters. However, in Tanjiro's case, he said Tanjiro is on the easy side because he says what he thinks, and is not the type that thinks one way and other things. Nezuko's actress, Akari Kitō, said Hanae is like a big brother to her at the studio, supportive and if there are parts she has difficulty recording, Hanae would stay and wait till she finishes even though his part has finished.
Hanae said she also thinks of Kitō as a younger sister. He also says it is easier for him to do his best when he is around people who he is friendly with. [10] Tanjiro's fighting style was liked by Hanae who reported he often made Tanjiro's shouts when playing video games. He appreciated the feedback he was given by the viewers of the anime. [11] English voice actor Zach Aguilar was overjoyed when being given the role of voicing Tanjiro in the dub due to him being a fan of the series, as well as noting he was supported by multiple fans.
[12] In another news, Aguilar ended liking the character as well as his fellow companions, wishing to find merchandising of Tanjiro. [13] Allegra Clark voices Tanjiro as an infant. Clark admitted she became emotional during the recording of the series and liked the younger incarnation of the character. [14] Appearances [ edit ] In Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba [ edit ] The main protagonist of Demon Slayer, Tanjiro Kamado is the oldest son of a late charcoal-seller, Tanjuro.
In the first chapter of the manga, his family massacred by a demon named Muzan Kibutsuji, with only his sister Nezuko Kamado surviving only to become a demon. After seeing Tanjiro's skills in battle as well as Nezuko's unwillingness to devour her brother, Giyu Tomioka sends the siblings to Sakonji Urokodaki on Mt.
Sagiri in order to tanjuro kamado a demon slayer. [15] After a couple of years of training his body and learning swordsmanship with ghosts, which he will find out later, Tanjiro learns the "Water Breathing" ( 水の呼吸法, Mizu no Kokyū-hō) sword-style.
After passing a test, Tanjiro becomes a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. [16] [17] During his first days as a Demon Tanjuro kamado, Tanjiro manages to make contact with Kibutsuji but the demon turns a human into one of his own to distract him.
As this happens, Kibutsuji becomes interested by Tanjiro's taunts and Hanafuda earrings from the Rising Sun, ordering his forces to kill the child. [18] The siblings later meet a friendly demon named Tamayo and assists with her research to find a way to restore Nezuko's humanity. As a result, Tanjiro starts collecting samples of blood from the demons he vanquishes, the stronger the better.
[19] Later in his battle with the demon Rui, Tanjiro remembers Tanjuro's family dance which his father wanted him to pass on his next generation alongside his rising sun earrings. The imitation of Tanjuro's dance results in Tanjiro performing the Hinokami Kagura ( ヒノカミ神楽, lit. "Dance of the Sun God") technique, which itself is based on the original breath style, the Sun Breathing ( 日の呼吸, Hi no Kokyū), merging both to create a more sustainable fighting style. After the Demon Slayer superiors accept him to continue working despite Nezuko's true nature, Tanjiro starts seeking the origins of his Hinokami and whether or tanjuro kamado his Tanjuro was related with such group of slayers.
His sword's color is black, occasionally turning crimson red and becoming much stronger when combined with Nezuko's Blood Burst, a technique he later learns to perform tanjuro kamado her help. With the Upper Ranks defeated, the Demon Slayers join forces in the final battle against Muzan. Tanjiro is poisoned by the enemy and at the brink of death he has a vision of one tanjuro kamado his ancestors and his encounter with Yoriichi Tsugikuni, who developed the original fighting style which was passed along the generations of the Kamado family in the form of the Hinokami Kagura.
Tanjiro reawakens and with the knowledge he obtained during his vision, leads the counterattack against the enemy. Meanwhile, Nezuko, certain that her brother needs her help, rushes to join his side. The medicine developed to cure her demon condition works, turning Nezuko into a human again.
Though he eventually avenges his family during the final battle, losing his arm and eye in the process while being fatally wounded, he recovers after Muzan turns him into a demon before his death. By losing his consciousness in the transformation to the point of attacking his own friends, Tanjiro as a demon becomes a bigger threat than Muzan himself, given that he is immune to sunlight like his sister, until he manages to return to human form, thanks to his friends's efforts, although both the eye and arm that grew back when he became a demon lost most of their functions.
After the battle, Tanjiro returns home with his sister and friends. Later it is revealed that he married fellow slayer Kanao Tsuyuri. Other appearances [ edit ] A light novel entitled Demon Slayer: Flower of Happiness chronicles the lives of Tanjiro and Zenitsu before the start of the main series. [20] Merchandising based on Tanjiro has also been released.
[21] [22] The character is also playable in the video game Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles. [23] Reception [ edit ] Critique [ edit ] Zach Aguilar voices Tanjiro in the English dub of the series. Critical reception to Tanjiro's character has been positive ever since his introduction. Otaku USA found Tanjiro an anti-stereotypical take from the shonen main characters due to his desire to fight being solely to find a cure to protect Nezuko, calling him a "fascinating breath of fresh air", while highlighting his friendly personality in a dark story.
[24] Anime News Network also liked Tanjiro's design due to how it translates the narrative of his family being poor, while also liking the way the characters lives with them and later only Nezuko. [25] Comic Book Bin felt Tanjiro's journey was inspirational due to the pain he goes to save Nezuko, making him likable. [26] Anime Inferno said "Tanjiro and Nezuko make a great team and are two enjoyable protagonists, with the series at its best when the two siblings are working together." [27] While noting that the character becomes a warrior tanjuro kamado the tanjuro kamado manga volume, the writer believed he might experience major pain through his quest.
[28] Nevertheless, regardless of how many battles he takes, Comic Book Bin enjoyed how Tanjiro retained his tanjuro kamado personality. [29] Anime News Network said that while he keeps being well meaning in following arcs, he still shows a more aggressive side when fighting demons, making him multi-faceted.
[30] [31] IGN noted that despite similarities between Kimetsu no Yaiba and other series from the same genre, Tanjiro also stands out due to his caring traits, comparing him to Allen Walker from Katsura Hoshino's D.Gray-man series who also exhibits these traits when being faced with the dilemma of hurting an enemy.
Tanjiro's relationship with Nezuko was acclaimed by IGN as "one of the most endearing parts of Demon Slayer, if not arguably its beating heart and soul". [32] Fandom Post also liked Tanjiro's care for others even if the other characters he meets are antagonists, with most of them being demons.
As a result, Fandom Post believed the writing in the manga made him endearing. [33] Similarly, Manga.Tokyo questioned how would Tanjiro change in his quest due to his need of becoming stronger and whether or not he might reach the happy ending he wants. [34] In regards to Ufotable's handling of tanjuro kamado series, Manga.Tokyo liked his visual appearance, finding it outstanding within the shonen genre, but felt that his struggle with Giyu was harsh, making the main character more likable.
Natsuki Hanae's performance as Tanjiro's Japanese voice actor was praised by the reviewer. [35] Anime News Network shared similar feelings, but felt that his traits made him predictable. [36] Nevertheless, the handling of Tanjiro's horror in regards to Nezuko's condition was the subject of praise. [37] The Fandom Post enjoyed Tanjiro's debut in the series due to how Ufotable handled the character's shock upon the tragedy of his family and how he battles Giyu in order to protect his sister.
As a result, he sees Tanjiro as a character with potential to be appealing. [38] The Fandom Post enjoyed how skilled Tanjiro became in the manga's tenth volume, making it one of the best reasons to keep following the printed media. [39] The English actor, Zach Aguilar, was also praised for his performance as Tanjiro.
[40] [41] Writing for Comic Book Resources, Sage Ashford praised the protagonists, whom he called "the most likable male and female leads of the decade". [42] Gadget Tsūshin listed both the breathing techniques suffix and "Ah! The era, the era changed again!" in their 2019 anime buzzwords list. [43] Manga.Tokyo felt Tanjiro's characterization to be unique within the series the writer has seen, citing the scenes where the character cheers himself up and tries to work for his responsibilities.
[44] Tanjiro's skills in regards to his breathing was noted to be one of most surprising events in the anime series by Latin America's IGN.
[45] In late 2019, IGN wondered about the possibilities of Tanjiro dying in the manga at the hands of Muzan due to the multiple wounds he suffered in his match against the demon. [46] Popularity [ edit ] Tanjiro's character has been very popular. He was ranked in 1st place as of the first Demon Slayer character popularity poll with 6,742 votes.

In this piece, we will discuss his story and the role he played as a character in the tale. Tanjuro’s character was key to the development of Tanjiro as well as this piece will go over all you should know about the story.
Tanjuro Kamado, the spouse of Kie Kamado. He was also his father was Tanjiro Kamado Nezuko Kamado Takeo Kamado Hanako Kamado and Shigeru Kamado as well as Rokuta Kamado. Tanjuro was believed to have a connection to the demon-slayer world. He was also an intelligent man. However, he was weak and frail. He passed away shortly before the murder of his wife and his youngest children.
However, he still manages to bring joy to his 2 remaining children. The remainder of this piece will be devoted to Tanjuro Kamado and all the aspects that pertain to the character’s story, such as its role within the narrative, past as well as his family, and the influence he has on Tanjiro. Tanjuro Kamado has plenty to give in terms of abilities and talents, which is why we felt he should get appropriate treatment in a separate article.
Is Tanjiro’s dad a demon slayer? Tanjuro Kamado was a fascinating character. As we will discover in the following paragraphs, he was a remarkably capable and powerful character. His skills and capabilities were certainly at the level of demon slayers (an upper-ranking one and not among the lower levels); however, he wasn’t a demon hunter in his lifetime. It’s possible that his condition could be the reason or if he had a knowledge of the Hinokami Kagura that there was no reason for him to leave his family.
But regardless, Tanjuro Kamado was not a demon-slayer. Tanjuro kamado Kamado: Powers and capabilities Being a descendant from the Kamado Family and possessing the ability to access the “Transparent World,” Tanjuro’s tanjuro kamado on the forehead was considered a Demon Slayer Mark.
Shinjuro’s explanation is that Sun Breathing users naturally have an image on their foreheads. Tanjuro was able to predict his opponent’s attacks by observing the movement of their blood flow, muscle, and joint movement.
Tanjuro didn’t emit any rage, anger or anger, or fighting spirit in his entire life. He also did not show hatred or fear, and not even in the direst of circumstances like the death of a bear.
This is largely due to Yoriichi Tsugikuni’s capacity to put an end to his bloodthirst and fighting spirit. For a non-demon slayer, Tanjuro had tremendous stamina. He could practice the dance ritual Hinokami Kagura throughout the night from dark until dawn with no interruption despite his health weak body and the frigid winter climate.
Is Tanjiro’s dad strong? While there’s no information on his strength, the Tanjuro legend says he has had extremely powerful arms. He was able to conceal the strength of his fighting spirit and see right the capabilities of his adversaries, and even sever their heads in one blow. For instance, he gets up Tanjiro in the early hours of the night to observe him fighting and killing the bear using the simplest rusty ax.
Tanjuro was revealed to be extremely tough despite not having the status of a demon-slayer and being afflicted with a disease that made his body extremely fragile. According to reports, he could kill a tanjuro kamado that was more than two meters high without holding the Nichirin Sword at speeds that were faster than the flash of an eye. Is Tanjiro’s Dad Tanjuro kamado No way, Yoriichi is not directly connected to Tanjiro and the family of Kamado. The physical similarities between them are a result of a coincidence.
Also the earrings and Hinokami Kagura are the heirlooms of Tanjiro’s family which was handed down and passed on to him due to Yoriichi being close to Tanjiro’s distant cousin, Sumiyoshi.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni was a renowned Demon Slayer within the Demon Slayer Corps during the Sengoku Era. Yoriichi is the younger cousin of Michikatsu Tsugikuni, who later turned demon and was a member of the Twelve Kizuki, serving as the High Moon One.
Yoriichi is the one who invented his Sun Breathing Style and is now considered to be the most powerful Demon Slayer in history and the strongest character of the franchise. Yoriichi is the one character Muzan was truly scared of.
Tanjuro kamado there’s any direct connection between Tanjiro’s family members and Yoriichi is a question that is often asked; however, the answer is straightforward. It is that Yoriichi and Tanjiro’s family is not in any way related.
However, someone who is near to Yoriichi is. We’ll now tell you the details about this story. Following his exile, Yoriichi decided he had lots of thoughts and needed someone to talk with.
Yoriichi could only think of his former friends Sumiyoshi and Suyako. They were in the same place and decided to go visit them. He is greeted by Sumiyoshi and Suyako, sits down with him, and tells him the entire story of his life, from his beginnings to his exile out of to the Demon Slayer Corps. Reminiscing about his losses and expressing his regret for having left Muzan alive and the many deaths that would ensue, Yoriichi became dejected.
Finally, Sumire, her mother, who is Sumiyoshi’s daughter, is there to offer an embrace. When Sumiyoshi asks for it, she is lifted up, which causes her to laugh and scream with joy which causes him to break down in tears and then kiss her. Suyako, the wife of Sumiyoshi, comes in shortly afterward to console him.
Give Yoriichi food and help him get back to his feet. Tanjuro performing the Tanjuro kamado dance In conjunction with Suyako and the Kamados, Suyako would have Yoriichi perform the Hinokami Kagura. He performed it gracefully, performing each step with the grace of a saint. He was often compared to an animal than a human. Sumiyoshi watched these shows attentively and preserved them in his memory. Even though he said he was always welcome in his last visit, Yoriichi gave Sumiyoshi his personal Hanafuda earrings.
Sumiyoshi and Suyako were then aware that this would be the last time Yoriichi saw them. In shock, Sumiyoshi called out to Yoriichi before he left and pleaded with Yoriichi to stop claiming the man was worthless. Instead, he was tanjuro kamado that he helped them and committed to protecting the traditional forms for Hinokami Kagura dance for his descendants.
As he hears the news, Yoriichi turns around and smiles with joy, thanking the Kamados and wishing them goodbye. Despite the apparent short lifespan of just 25 years, those with the Mark of the Demon Slayer, Yoriichi, lived until his 80s. However, he eventually went blind while the demons continued to be slain. He was ultimately killed in battle with his brother, who had in a while – turned into his own demon Kokushibo.
Sumiyoshi is an ancestor of the Tanjiro lineage. Although it is not yet clear the exact relationship between them, they’re well-known. Sumiyoshi was the first person to use this Sun Breathing Style alongside Yoriichi. He actually fulfilled his commitment to Yoriichi by passing the technique through generations until the technique eventually reached Tanjiro.
Then, Yoriichi and Sumiyoshi were not closely related. This is a sign. Likely, Tanjiro, as well as Tanjuro Kamado, weren’t related to Yoriichi. However, Sumiyoshi was Yoriichi’s only true friend, and their kindness towards the family of Kamado was what allowed Yoriichi to get over his doubts. That’s why Yoriichi’s story is inextricably linked to the tale of the family of Kamado. However, there is no connection between them.
The incident occurred long before we ever met Tanjiro and wasn’t something the Kamado family frequently talked about. Perhaps it was, but most of them passed away before Tanjuro was born and Nezuko was older. In the following paragraphs, we’ll give you more details about Tanjuro’s and Tanjiro’s similar scars and the way Tanjuro’s tale ended.
Why do Tanjiro and his dad have the same scar? The mark that we saw on both Tanjiro’s and Tanjuro’s foreheads is not really one, but as we’ve explained, it was the Demon Slayer Mark.
It’s a mysterious mark that is obtainable and appears tanjuro kamado the physique of an incredibly strong Demon Slayer. However, Tanjuro kamado was not a demon slayer.
Tanjiro was one after several tragic circumstances, so how do they get it? This could be an effect of Kamado’s connection with this Sun Breathing style. It is also said that every Sun Breathing users have a Demon Slayer Mark, which indicates that they are both powerful and have a lot of potentials.
However, Tanjuro was not a demon slayer, so he didn’t was able to activate his mark; however, he could have benefited from it, as did Tanjiro (before Tanjiro actually activated the mark). This is the reason that both of them have the same scar. It is a birthmark that demonstrates the immense power and potential that is why it’s present on both. What happened to Tanjiro’s dad?
Tanjuro was suffering from a condition that made his skin look aged and dull. In the course of his career, Tanjuro married Kie and tanjuro kamado six children. Tanjuro was tanjuro kamado to tanjuro kamado some connection to the demon-slaying world, but this was not fully explored.
In his final years, Tanjuro was a wise man but frail and sick. He passed away before the murder of his spouse and his youngest children at the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji However, he did his best to inspire his remaining children, particularly Tanjiro.

He is a Kanoe-ranked member of the Demon Slayer Corps, who joined for the sake of hunting down the one responsible for the murder of his family and his sister's transformation into a Demon. Appearance Tanjiro is a young man with rather tanned skin and an athletic physique. He has ruffled, black hair with burgundy tips, combed back to expose his forehead, and wide, dark red eyes with white pupils that appear lighter around the lower section of his irises.
He also has a scar on the top left of his forehead, which he received when he protected his younger brother from a falling brazier.[5] The scar originally looked somewhat like a graze until his fight with the Hand Demon during tanjuro kamado Final Selection, after which it develops into his Demon Slayer Mark.
It is noted that his hands are visibly tanjuro kamado for someone his age, as a result of his rigorous training under Sakonji Urokodaki. Tanjiro looks remarkably similar in appearance to his ancestor Sumiyoshi, possessing the same facial structure, eyes, and hairstyle as him, although Sumiyoshi's hair was longer, about shoulder-length and would be tied in a ponytail behind his head. Tanjiro first appears wearing a checkered, black-and-sea-foam-green haori over a white robe and black pants.
He occasionally sports a turquoise scarf and is seen with circular, white bands looped around his calves. He also wears a distinct pair of hanafuda earrings, with the image of a white-and-red flower.
His hair is also kept tied back in small ponytail or bun; as he trains with Sabito and Makomo, his hair grows to his shoulders. During the Final Selection, Tanjiro wears a blue, cloud-patterned jinbei-styled kimono and black pants, nearly identical to Sakonji's outfit. He still wears his hanafuda earrings, but his hair is cut extremely short and remains the same length since. Similar to the rest of the apprentices that were trained under Sakonji, Tanjiro wears a hand-carved fox mask crafted from his master on the left side of his head.
The mask has tanjuro kamado accents on the eyes, ears, and spots on each corner of its mouth. On the upper right corner of the mask, there is a sun-shaped design that likely symbolizes the scar tanjuro kamado his forehead. After becoming a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform, a dark-brown gakuran jacket, a white belt, baggy pants that extend into tabi socks, a pair of zōri with red straps, and bands of white cloth wrapped tightly around his calves, all beneath his signature checkered haori.
He carries a large wooden box on his back (which was a gift to him from Sakonji Urokodaki), where his sister sleeps as they travel during the day. During his second encounter with Muzan Kibutsuji, he injures his right eye in the Infinity Castle. As the battle progresses, Tanjiro suddenly collapses and his wound begins to form a large mass over tanjuro kamado right eye due to the tanjuro kamado inflicted on him by Muzan.
Later on, when Tanjiro wakes up, he is described as looking 'repulsive' by Muzan. Later in the battle Tanjiro's tanjuro kamado arm is severed by Muzan. After being turned into a Demon by Muzan, Tanjiro is able to heal the growth on his face as well as regenerate his lost arm and other smaller injuries. He obtains eyes with slit pupils, fangs and flame-shaped marks over his left forehead and right jaw that are reminiscent of those of Kokushibo, in addition to a third, smaller flame-shaped mark coming down from the right side of his head down to his eyebrow after he conquered the weakness to sunlight.
His scar turns into a flame-pattern as if it were a permanent Demon Slayer Mark, has become longer and is the largest of the three, and all three marks vaguely point towards his nose, though only his scar-mark reaches it.
He still dons his bloodstained corps uniform, one sleeve ripped off where his arm was severed, but loses his checkered haori and the Nichirin Blade at his hip. After returning to his human form, Tanjiro loses the ability to see from his right eye, the iris of which is now a dull pink-gray color and the pupil black rather than its original white.
His left arm, which he regrew as a Demon, now takes the appearance of that which an older person may have, becoming wrinkled and skeletal, and he loses all feeling in it below the elbow and thus the tanjuro kamado to move it from his shoulder down. Personality Tanjiro is kind by nature and has been described by others as having very gentle eyes.
He exhibits a great deal of determination and will not give up once he has a goal to achieve; the best example of this being his relentless quest to find a cure for Nezuko. Even though he is relatively strong on his own, Tanjiro isn't opposed to asking others for help when he needs it.
He is very protective of his friends and even more so of his younger sister. However, despite his kind and understanding nature, Tanjiro does have a limit to his tolerance and has a distaste for rudeness and cowardice as he easily becomes annoyed by Zenitsu Agatsuma's constant whining, and angered by Inosuke Hashibira's barbaric actions.
Tanjiro's most notable attribute is his ability to empathize with anyone, even Demons, which often makes him hesitate before delivering the final blow. This moment of hesitation has a downside, as it has allowed some Demons to take advantage of Tanjiro's understanding nature to recover and continue the fight on rare occasions. However, as Tanjiro gains experience over the years of his service, he becomes more calculating and strict in his decisions.
His courage to protect the weak commits him to face his enemy with respect and dignity, whether versus good people or evil Demons. Under Tanjiro's rather kind and friendly shell, is a person with a growing fire of rage and vengeance inside of them. This side of him leaks out when Tanjiro first confronts Muzan, ready to take out his sword and attack him.
When Muzan escapes, Tanjiro releases his frustration and declares he will be the one to kill Muzan. In another event, when tanjuro kamado Demon Slayers have their necks snapped tanjuro kamado the Mother Spider Demon's threads, Tanjiro shows noticeable anger that even Inosuke senses.
This side of Tanjiro fully comes out after Muzan's speech where he compares himself to a natural disaster. Tanjiro responds to that by calling Muzan "a being that should not exist." As a Demon, Tanjiro appeared to be mindless, like most initially are following their transformation.
He acted like a feral beast, attacking anyone in sight without any hesitation. Not even his friends and comrades were safe. The one exception was Nezuko, who he refused to harm even after tasting her blood; a possible sign that he was fighting his transformation.
His hostility towards the Demon Slayers might also have been due to his mind being affected by Muzan's desire to kill all Demon Slayers.Tanjiro General Info • Full name: Tanjiro Kamado. • Age: 16. • Height: 5’5’’. • Weight: 134 lb. • Birthday: July 14th. • Voice Actor: Natsuki Hanae. “ In order to soothe the spirits of those it killed and to make sure it claims no further victims. I will swing my blade down and lop off the head of any demon without mercy! But I will not belittle those who regret their actions. and suffer over the things they did as demons.
Because demons were once human. Because they were like me. „ ~ Tanjiro's ideology about demons “ I'm sure that I am not one of those chosen users. But, even so, even though I'm not chosen, even though I lack the power, there are times when I can't just back down from someone, no matter what. Because there are people who don't have human hearts in this world. They irrationally take lives and cause pain without regretting it.

Was able to sense that Akaza became immune to decapitation by Nichirin weapons despite being extremely far away from him) • Immortality (Type. 1, 2, 3) • Regeneration (High-Mid. Even after being reduced to a decapitated head, a low-level demon would have still been capable of regenerating if his head were to be "completely crushed") • Self-Sustenance (Type 3, Demons don't sleep) • Body Control (A low-level demon could grow hands from its head after it lost its body.
Superior to demons who can use their flesh to form clothes, rope, and metallic weapons. His clothes disintegrated with his death and he is able to absorb people through them.
Grew flesh whips out of his back and can control them at will) • Battle Spirit ( Overwhelming Aura that causes the opponent fear and paralysis with them feeling the air getting heavier, and can even cause internal bleeding and external lacerations) • Multiple Selves (Type 1 and 2; Inherited Muzan's memories, and was constantly influenced by Muzan's ghost) • Accelerated Development (Instinctively used some of Muzan's abilities, and he should eventually regain his sanity especially if he quells his hunger after eating a human) • Biological Deconstruction (Inherited Muzan's blood, which if injected into a human will result in rapid mutation causing cellular destruction and quick melting and vaporization tanjuro kamado the human's body) • Energy Projection (Generated an energy ball from his mouth) • Shockwave Generation (Can generate shockwave attacks) Resistance to • Disease Manipulation (Demons don’t get sick) • Regeneration Negation (Giyu stated that Crimson Red Nichirin Blades have tanjuro kamado effect on him) • Poison Manipulation (Comparable to strong demons who have high poison resistance.

Capable of fighting Hantengu’s emotion clones), City Block level+ with the Demon Slayer Mark ( Easily overpowered and cut off three of Hantengu’s emotion clones’ heads. Can also cut the real Hantengu's neck) - City Block level+, likely Multi-City Block level (Giyu commented that he had reached a Pillar's level of strength. Should be superior to Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Kanao. His Demon Slayer Mark is now always active and has become his new Base Form.
Kept up with and tanjuro kamado attacks from a casual Akaza for an extended period, impressing him with his growth. Sliced off Akaza's head once he finally got an opening) - At least Multi-City Block level (When he was at his full power, he fought on par with a weakened and aged Muzan Kibutsuji and parried all of his arm whips by himself for 10 minutes straight, which even all of the Demon Slayers, including his previous form, working together couldn't do.
Was integral tanjuro kamado the final fight against Muzan, as he fought against him for a full hour and did most of the damage. Dealt the final blow to Muzan) - At least Multi-City Block level (Infused with all of Muzan's remaining power, and Muzan himself deems him to be the new strongest demon after him.

Completely dodged Akaza's Final Form, and blitzed him) - At least Massively Hypersonic+ (Reacted to all of Muzan Kibutsuji's arm whips by tanjuro kamado, which even all of the Demon Slayers working together couldn't do), higher with Waltz Flash - At least Massively Hypersonic+ (Should be superior to his human self. His tendrils can barely be countered by Giyu. Struck Kanao tanjuro kamado when she was using Final Form: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye) Lifting Strength: Class 5 (Comparable to Inosuke.
Can lift a few large rocks at once) - Class 5 - Class 5 - Class 25 ( Pushed a large boulder across a town) - Class 25 - At least Class 25 Striking Strength: Small Building Class, higher with the Dance of the Fire God - At least Small Building Class, higher with the Dance of the Fire God, Building Class with Demon Slayer Mark - Building Class, City Block Class+ with Demon Slayer Mark - City Block Class+, likely Multi-City Block Class - At least Multi-City Block Class - At least Multi-City Block Class Durability: Small Building level (Survived blows from the Hand Demon) - At least Small Building level, Building level with Demon Slayer Mark - Building level (Survived tanjuro kamado from Hantengu’s emotion clones), City Block level+ with Demon Slayer Mark - City Block level+, likely Multi-City Block level (Survived attacks from Akaza) - At least Multi-City Block level (Took several hits from Muzan's arm whips and didn't seem that fazed at all.
Withstood many shockwaves and attacks from a serious weakened Muzan and was able to stand his ground, which no other Demon Slayer could) - At least Multi-City Block level (Should be superior to his human self. Stopped a strike tanjuro kamado Inosuke with his bare hands without injury. Giyu thinks that he is unkillable in this state) Stamina: Superhuman (Constantly keeps pushing himself to the limits of his stamina, much tanjuro kamado than previously), higher with the Dance of the Fire God (The same skill allowed his sickly father to dance from sunset to sunrise out in the snow while barely clothed, with his father saying that he could dance forever, though this tanjuro kamado likely hyperbolic) - Superhuman (Endured extremely taxing training for seven days non-stop with no food, no sleep, and only a small amount of water from rain, later drained for even greater stamina, was also getting injured frequently during the training session.
Fought Lower Moon-level demons in the Dimensional Infinity Fortress for nearly 5 hours on top of fighting Akaza) - Infinite (Demons don't tire) Range: Extended Melee Range, Several Meters with Total Concentration Breathing and Breathing Styles - Melee Range, Tens of Meters with shockwaves, tendrils, and energy projection Standard Equipment: Standard Black Nichirin Sword (A katana made from metals that absorbed the light of the sun, they cause demons to completely disintegrate if they are decapitated with them, as they are weak to sunlight, which in the case of demons which have assumed a form where they don't have a neck or head in the traditional sense can be done by slicing something that's equivalent enough to the neck, demon limbs that are sliced off and constructs created through Blood Demon Arts that are bisected through a Nichirin sword are also subject to the disintegration, Stabs and slashes with a Nichirin sword can dispel the effects of Blood Demon Arts and can temporarily weaken a demon's power and abilities if tanjuro kamado at the neck), Demon Slayer Corps Uniform (Protects from the claws and slashing attacks from weaker demons, and has resistance against fire, water and cold) Intelligence: Genius (Tanjiro is incredibly analytical and sagacious, as well as showing a natural aptitude and innate intuition in many varied areas.
Even against opponents that heavily outmatch him in multiple categories, Tanjiro is capable of creating strategies to beat an opponent on the fly and in danger even if it results in his own death.
Upon seeing a fighting style once, Tanjiro can analyze it, and it’s even possible for him to accomplish such a feat even in the midst of a constantly shifting location where he lacks any environmental advantage or benefit. Tanjiro has been noted to be very adaptive against any opponent as well as explosive growth rate. Furthermore, he is an expert at using his opponent's abilities against them. Even if the opponent offers no real details or specifics on their power, Tanjiro can pick up subtle phrases and words used throughout their fights to deduce the ability in a short amount of time, as he had done in the battle against Akaza.
He's even conjured new abilities, even new Breathing Styles and utilized them effectively upon using them once, even able to combine techniques despite not being fully proficient in either of them, such as when he combined the Breath of Water and the Dance of the Fire God together in order to save Hinatsuru from Gyutaro, and later used once again during the Dimensional Infinity Fortress Arc to slay dozens of demons.
Possesses intuition and natural aptitude for combat, which was pointed out by Giyu during their first encounter, in which Tanjiro skillfully laid out a plan to attack Giyu by surprise by charging towards him, not showing the Demon Slayer that he was unarmed, and bring down Giyu with a hatchet he had thrown in the air beforehand.
The attack failed, but Giyu was still very impressed by Tanjiro's plan, especially tanjuro kamado he was a rookie at the time. Furthermore, Tanjiro also showed proficiency in hand-to-hand combat despite never practicing martial arts before, allowing him to hold his own and adapt instantly to Inosuke's animalistic unarmed fighting style) - Animalistic (Is only driven by Muzan's final will to eradicate the Demon Tanjuro kamado Corps) Weaknesses: Cannot lie convincingly, and cannot use the Dance of the Fire God more than a few times without exhausting himself and doing so after using Water Breathing techniques wrecks havoc on his body.
- Cannot lie convincingly and Rage Power has a time limit, as he cannot keep that up for long. Demon Slayer Mark takes a toll on his stamina. - Cannot tanjuro kamado convincingly. - Wisteria flowers are poisonous to him.
Animalistic in combat. Subconsciously still protective of Nezuko. Notable Attacks/Techniques: Breath of Water ( 水 みずの 呼 こ 吸 きゅうMizu no kokyū ?): A Breath Style that mimics the element of water, specifically the flow, flexibility, and adaptability of the liquid and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. Most, if not all, known techniques involve the user bending their body, arm, and weapon in a flowing motion, allowing users to unleash flowing water-like attacks and fluid deflection of incoming physical attacks.
• First Form: Water Surface Slash ( 壱 いちノ 型 かた 水 みな 面 も 斬 ぎりIchi no kata: Minamo Giri ?) - The user generates enough momentum to create a powerful single concentrated slash.
• Second Form: Water Wheel ( 弐 にノ 型 かた 水 みず 車 ぐるまNi no kata: Mizu Guruma ?) - The user leaps and vertically spins forward in the air while releasing a flowing attack in a circular motion. • Second Form: Improved, Lateral Water Wheel ( 弐 にノ 型 かた・ 改 かい 横 よこ 水 みず 車 ぐるまNi no kata kai: Yoko Mizu Guruma ?) - An alternate variation of Second Form: Water Wheel created by Tanjiro Kamado that unleashes a horizontal spin instead of a vertical one.
• Third Form: Tanjuro kamado Dance ( 参 さんノ 型 かた 流 りゅう 流 りゅう 舞 まいSan no kata: Ryūryū Mai ?) - The user swings and bends their blade in a winding motion along with their body and dances in a flowing pattern, slicing everything in its path. • Fourth Form: Striking Tide ( 肆 しノ 型 かた 打 うち 潮 しおShi no kata: Uchishio ?) - The user makes multiple consecutive slashes while twisting their body and sword in a flowing fashion to deliver multiple blows simultaneously.
• Striking Tide: Turbulent ( 打 うち 潮 しお・ 乱 らんUchishio - Ran ?) - An improved version of the Fourth Form: Striking Tide. The user increases the quantity of consecutive strikes and slashes along with improving its accuracy in order to contact a specific target during a chaotic situation.
• Fifth Form: Blessed Rain After the Drought ( 伍 ごノ 型 かた 干 かん 天 てんの 慈 じ 雨 うGo no kata: Kanten no Jiu ?) - The user changes the grip on their sword and decapitates the opponent in a single flowing strike that causes little to no pain. It is a “sword strike of kindness” used when the enemy willingly surrenders. • Sixth Form: Whirlpool ( 陸 ろくノ 型 かた ねじれ 渦 うずRoku no kata: Nejire Uzu ?) - The user fiercely twists their upper and lower body, creating a whirlpool of air that cuts anything caught in it.
Its effect and efficiently is enhanced underwater, where the user can draw water around their weapon to enhance their slashes. • Whirlpool, Tanjuro kamado ( ねじれ 渦 うず・ 流 りゅう 流 りゅうNejire Uzu - Ryūryū ?) - A combination of Third Form: Flowing Dance and Sixth Form: Whirlpool created by Tanjiro Kamado. The tanjuro kamado combines the footwork from Flowing Dance and the twisting movements of Whirlpool, resulting in the swordsman to perform an attack around the user and conjure a twisting, swirling, vicious flow of water to redirect projectiles from multiple angles.
• Seventh Form: Drop Ripple Thrust ( 漆 しちノ 型 かた 雫 しずく 波 は 紋 もん 突 づきShichi no kata: Shizuku Hamon Tsuki ?) - The user performs a fast and accurate stab, capable of reducing the impact of a moving target. • Drop Ripple Thrust, Curve ( 雫 しずく 波 は 紋 もん 突 づき・ 曲 きょくShizuku Hamon Tsuki - Kyoku ?) - A modified strike that hits from a specific angle corresponding to the sword's structure which nearly nullifies the impact and momentum of tanjuro kamado moving object.
• Eighth Form: Waterfall Basin ( 捌 はちノ 型 かた 滝 たき 壼 つぼHachi no kata: Takitsubo ?) - The user cuts the target vertically in a flowing motion which is most effective when they are falling downward.
• Ninth Form: Splashing Water Flow, Turbulent ( 玖 くノ 型 かた 水 すい 流 りゅう 飛沫 しぶき・ 乱 らんKu no kata: Suiryū Shibuki - Ran ?) - The user changes their footwork in a way that minimizes the landing time and surface needed when landing, allowing the user to move without limits. Ideal when fighting in a place with no solid foothold. • Tenth Form: Constant Flux ( 拾 じゅうノ 型 かた 生 せい 生 せい 流 る 転 てんJū no kata: Seisei Ruten ?) - The user performs a continuous flowing attack which seemingly takes the form of a water dragon that increases in strength and power with each rotation due to momentum.
Dance of the Fire God ( ヒノカミ 神楽 かぐらHinokami Kagura ?): Later revealed to be the Breath of the Sun ( 日 ひの 呼 こ 吸 きゅうHi no kokyū ?), the Dance of the Fire God is a Breath Style Tanjiro learned from his father when he was a child that mimics the sun using the user's movements, techniques and abilities. This Breath Style allows for stronger attacks and makes it feel as if opponents were slashed with fire, drastically slowing down a demon's regenerative healing factor (Demons capable of regenerating limbs at subsonic speeds could barely heal from it).
There are 12 known forms created by Yoriichi Tsugikuni and later a thirteenth one specifically created to counter Muzan Kibutsuji. • Waltz ( 円 えん 舞 ぶEnbu ?) - The user delivers a single high-powered vertical slash.
• Waltz Flash ( 円 えん 舞 ぶ 一 いっ 閃 せんEnbu Issen ?) - A modified version of Waltz developed and utilized only by Tanjiro Kamado. The user infuses the Thunderclap and Flash technique of Breath of Thunder into the high-powered slash of Waltz by inhaling huge amounts of oxygen, increasing the pumping of blood through the entire body, focusing it on the legs, and releasing it all to assault the target with a slash.
This technique was capable of out-speeding Genya Shinazugawa, Nezuko Kamado, as well as the fleeing Hantengu. This technique is said to be slower than Zenitsu Agatsuma's Thunderclap and Flash. • Azure Heaven ( 碧 へき 羅 らの 天 てんHeki-ra no Ten ?) - The user spins their body horizontally tanjuro kamado deliver a 360° slash.
• Scorching Crimson Mirror ( 烈 れつ 日 じつ 紅 こう 鏡 きょうRetsujitsu Kōkyō ?) - The user unleashes two horizontal slashes to hit or defend from incoming attacks. • Bone Burning Sun ( 灼 しゃっ 骨 こつ 炎 えん 陽 ようShakkotsu En'yō ?) - The user unleashes a large circular slash that defends from imminent frontal attacks.
• The Setting Sun ( 斜 しゃ 陽 よう 転 てん 身 しんShayō Tenshin ?) - The user backflips into the air to deliver a powerful upended sword slash that aims to decapitate their target. • Soaring Flame Haze ( 飛 ひ 輪 りん 陽 かげ 炎 ろうHirin Kagerō ?) - The user charges towards the target, unleashing a horizontal slash seemingly covered in haze that fails to land, but actually does hit the target.
• Shining Ray of Grace ( 輝 き 輝 き 恩 おん 光 こうKiki Onkō ?) - The user spirals into the air and delivers a powerful slash that surrounds the enemy. • Sunflower Lance ( 陽 よう 華 か 突 とつYōkatotsu ?) - The user unleashes a single thrust attack with the point of the blade.
• Solar Halo Dragon Dance ( 日 にち 暈 うんの 龍 りゅう・ 頭 かぶり 舞 まいNichiun no Ryū Kaburimai ?) - The user unleashes a continuous fast and powerful sword attack that seemingly takes the form of a Japanese dragon made of solar flames. This technique is capable of decapitating multiple targets at once. • Fire Chariot ( 火 か 車 しゃKasha ?) - The user leaps behind the opponent and spins in the air downward, releasing a sword attack in a circular motion.
• Parhelion Rainbow ( 幻 げん 日 にち 虹 こうGen'nichi Kō ?) - The user performs high-speed twists and rotations, thus creating afterimages used mostly to evade attacks. The afterimages work most tanjuro kamado on enemies with good vision. • Flame Waltz ( 炎 えん 舞 ぶEnbu ?) - A two-combo strike which starts with a vertical slash and then a horizontal one right after.
• Thirteenth Form ( 拾 じゅう tanjuro kamado さんノ 型 かたJū San no kata ?) - The user continuously performs all twelve forms of the Breath of the Sun in repetitive succession to increase the accuracy and agility of his movements while reducing fatigue. This form was created solely for the purpose of killing Muzan Kibutsuji, since the repetition of all twelve forms aims to destroy Muzan's twelve vital organs (seven hearts and five brains) that move freely inside his body. Transparent World ( 透 すき 通 とおる 世 せ 界 かいSukitōru Sekai tanjuro kamado Through becoming aware of every part of his body, and "closing" any unneeded actions out like one would close their eyes when trying to hear something, Tanjiro can enter the Transparent World.
His speed and strength increase dramatically, and he tanjuro kamado capable of seeing through an enemy, becoming able to observe every muscle, blood vessels, lungs, and all their contractions, allowing him to predict their attacks and movements efficiently. Tanjiro's perception of the world also rapidly speeds up, giving him greater speed and reflexes. In this state, his fighting spirit, emotions, and intent are impossible to detect.

He is a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps, who joined to find a remedy to turn his sister, Nezuko Kamado, back into a human and to hunt down and kill demons, [5] and later swore to defeat Tanjuro kamado Kibutsuji, [6] the King of Demons, in order to prevent others from suffering the same fate as him.
[7] Before he became a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro was a coal burner before his entire family was slaughtered by Muzan while his younger sister, Nezuko, was turned into a demon. He has ruffled, black hair with burgundy tips, combed back to expose his forehead, and wide, dark red eyes with white pupils that appear lighter around the lower section of his irises. He also has a scar on the top left of his forehead, first seen when his mother brought him to watch his father perform the Hinokami Kagura dance. The scar originally looked somewhat like a graze until his fight with the Hand Demon during the Final Selection, after which it develops into a flame-like pattern as his Demon Slayer Mark.
It is noted that his hands are visibly rougher for someone his age, as a result of his rigorous training under Sakonji Urokodaki. Tanjiro looks remarkably similar in appearance to his ancestor Sumiyoshi, tanjuro kamado the same facial structure, eyes, and hairstyle as him, although Sumiyoshi's hair was longer, about shoulder-length and would be tied in a ponytail behind his head.
Tanjiro first appears wearing a checkered, black-and-sea-foam-green haori over a white robe and black pants. He occasionally sports a turquoise scarf and is seen with circular, white bands looped around his calves.
He also wears a distinct pair of hanafuda earrings, with the image of the rising sun over a mountain. His hair is also kept tied back in small ponytail or bun; as he trains with Sabito and Makomo, his hair grows to his shoulders. During the Final Selection, Tanjiro wears a blue, cloud-patterned samue-styled kimono and black pants, nearly identical to Sakonji's tanjuro kamado. He still wears his hanafuda earrings, but his hair is cut extremely short and remains the same length since.
Similar to the rest of the apprentices that were trained under Sakonji, Tanjiro wears a hand-carved fox mask crafted from his master on the left side of his head. The mask has red accents on the eyes, ears, and spots on each corner of tanjuro kamado mouth. On the upper right corner of the mask, there is a sun-shaped design that likely symbolizes the scar on his forehead. After becoming a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform, a dark-brown gakuran jacket, a white belt, baggy chocho zubon pants that extend into tabi socks, a pair of zÅri with red straps, and bands of white cloth wrapped tightly around his calves resembling kyahan, all beneath his signature checkered haori.
He carries a large wooden box on his back (which was a gift to him from Sakonji Urokodaki), where his sister sleeps as they travel during the day. During his second encounter with Tanjuro kamado Kibutsuji, he injures his right eye in the Infinity Castle. As the battle progresses, Tanjiro suddenly collapses and his wound begins to form a large mass over his right eye due to the poison inflicted on him by Muzan.
Later on, when Tanjiro wakes up, he is described as looking 'repulsive' by Muzan. [9] Later in the battle Tanjiro's left arm is severed by Muzan.
[10] After being turned into a demon by Muzan, Tanjiro is tanjuro kamado to heal the growth on his face as well as regenerate his lost arm and other smaller injuries.
His scar turns into a flame-pattern as if it were a permanent Demon Slayer Mark, has become longer and is tanjuro kamado largest of the three, and all three marks vaguely point towards his nose, though only his scar-mark reaches it. He still dons his bloodstained corps uniform, one sleeve ripped off where his arm was severed, but loses his checkered haori and the Nichirin Sword at his hip.
[3] After returning to his human form, Tanjiro loses the ability to see from his right eye, the iris of which is now a dull pink-gray color and the pupil black rather than its original white. His left arm, which he regrew as a Demon, now takes the appearance of that which an older person may have, becoming wrinkled and skeletal, and he loses all feeling in it below the elbow and thus the ability to move it from his forearm down.
[11] Gallery Tanjiro's final appearance. Personality Tanjiro's warm yet solemn smile. Tanjiro is very kind by nature and has been described by others as having very gentle eyes and a compassionate persona. He exhibits a great deal of determination and will not give up once he has a goal to achieve; tanjuro kamado best example of this being his relentless quest to find a cure for Nezuko.
Tanjiro is direct and very honest, taking everyone's words with sincerity and seriousness.
Upon hearing Tengen Uzui claim he is a god, he asked what area is he the god of. He has difficulty lying and doing so causes his face to contort severely, as his honest nature clashes with the insincerity of his words. Having grown up in the countryside of Japan, Tanjiro has no experience of life in large urban areas. During his missions to Asakusa and Yoshiwara, he stared in wonder at the bright lights enveloping the cities.
He naively believed the Mugen train was perhaps the land's guardian spirit and, just like Inosuke, he does not know what a red-light district is.
On Mount Natagumo, when the captured Demon Slayers had their tanjuro kamado snapped by the Mother Spider Demon's threads, Tanjiro tanjuro kamado noticeable anger that even Inosuke senses. Upon seeing Daki smirking after witnessing her slaughter three people indiscriminately with her sashes, he seethed with rage and confronted her alone. This side of Tanjiro is fully exemplified after Muzan's speech where he compares himself to a natural disaster.
Tanjiro responds to that by calling Muzan "a being that should not exist." In the face of irrational evil. Tanjiro shows a more cold and terrifying side of him, acting more violent towards his opponents as a result. Tanjiro confronting Hantengu about his past crimes.
Tanjiro's most notable attribute is his ability to empathize with anyone, even demons, which often makes him hesitate before delivering the final blow. Tanjiro has a unique ideology regarding demons, believing that those tanjuro kamado have committed evil should be killed without mercy, but those that regret their actions should not be belittled after their deaths, showing great nuance and maturity in Tanjiro's thinking, probably brought about by his sister.
However, as Tanjiro gains experience over the years of his service, he becomes more calculating and strict in his decisions. His courage to protect the weak commits him to face his enemy with respect and dignity, whether versus good people or evil demons.
Tanjiro is adamant about serving justice to the evil, by any means necessary, even declaring to cut off the heads of demons who have committed heinous crimes and confronting them about their inhumane mindset and their criminal deeds. As a demon, Tanjiro appeared to be mindless, like most initially are following their transformation. He acted like a feral beast, attacking anyone in sight without any hesitation.
Not even his friends and comrades were safe. The one exception was Nezuko, who he refused to harm even tanjuro kamado tasting her blood; a possible sign that he was fighting his transformation. His hostility tanjuro kamado the Demon Slayers might also have been due to his mind being affected by Muzan's desire to kill all Demon Slayers.
Abilities Tanjiro's extraordinary combat prowess and superhuman physical attributes allowing him to overpower Rui, a member of the Twelve Kizuki. Overall Abilities: From the beginning, Tanjiro was shown to be a prodigious fighter, having a strong natural aptitude for combat, especially in swordsmanship. Tanjiro was already introduced to have superhuman characteristics, like extraordinary senses, a tanjuro kamado sense of smell, immense willpower and great intellect.
His naturally obtained abilities go so far as to allow him to outsmart and catch Giyu Tomioka, one of the most powerful Demon Slayers, off guard and nearly land a fatal blow on him with nothing but his intense emotions. Just after learning Tanjuro kamado Breathing and taking the Final Selection, he was able to easily take down numerous low-level demons without the help of others with his own combat prowess and intellectual abilities allowing Tanjiro to adapt to and defeat his opponents.
This was shown when he circumvented the unique Blood Demon Arts and fighting styles of decently powerful and skilled demons, such as the Swamp Demon, Susamaru, Yahaba, and Kyogai. Despite still being the lowest rank in the organization, Tanjiro could hold his own against demons who shared the powers of a member of the Twelve Kizuki, the twelve strongest demons in existence and later held his own against an actual member himself, namely Rui, Lower Rank Five.
After recalling the Hinokami Kagura, he learned from his father as a child, he almost defeated the Lower Rank demon, a feat which many believed only a Hashira, the strongest swordsmen in the entirety of the Demon Slayer Corps, could pull of. After mastering Total Concentration: Constant ( å…¨ ( ãœã‚“ ) 集 ( ã—ゅㆠ) ä¸ ( ã¡ã‚…ㆠ) tanjuro kamado 常 ( ã˜ã‚‡ã† ) ä¸ ( ã¡ã‚…ㆠ)Zen ShÅ«chÅ« JÅchÅ« ?), which further enhanced his physical abilities, Tanjiro was tanjuro kamado of fighting and beheading Lower Rank One, Enmu, on his own, even managing to come up with a solution to the demon's spells in the midst of battle and possessing enough willpower to commit suicide in his dreams in order to wake up.
Later, with the help of Nezuko, Inosuke, Tanjuro kamado, and Kyojuro Rengoku, Tanjuro kamado properly decapitated the strongest Lower Rank demon. With the death of Kyojuro at the hands of Upper Rank Three, Akaza, the Flame Hashira's dying words tanjuro kamado as a major incentive for Tanjiro to push on in times of crisis and was a key component in his indomitable willpower from then on.
An enraged Tanjiro making quick work of an Upper Rank's attack. After the battle, Tanjiro could fight on equal ground with Daki, an Upper Rank demon, beings that have lived for over a century and killed numerous Hashira over their tanjuro kamado, and even briefly overpowering her when he was enraged, albeit he ran out of stamina before he could behead her.
While injured and slightly fatigued, Tanjiro managed to assist a poisoned Tengen Uzui against Gyutaro and later outsmarted and decapitated him whilst awakening the Demon Slayer Mark momentarily.
Thus, Tanjiro became one of the first Demon Slayers to tanjuro kamado kill an Upper Rank, a feat that hasn't been accomplished for the last century. Additionally, Mitsuri Kanroji later stated that surviving a battle against an Upper Rank demon equates to around 5 to 10 years of intensive training. [12] Upon receiving intensive training in the Swordsmith Village, Tanjiro's swordsmanship skills was greatly polished and refined while also awakening the ability to 'smell the future', giving him the movements and reflexes comparable to that of the Hashira.
Later, when battling with the weaker clones of Upper Rank Four, Hantengu, one of his clones noted that Tanjiro undergoes explosive growth in the midst of battle, more apparently under critical moments. [13] During this same battle, Tanjiro managed to fight off 4 Upper Rank-level demons with the help of Tanjuro kamado Shinazugawa and his sister, and later managed to decapitate Hantengu. Tanjiro fighting on equal ground with the King of Demons, Muzan Kibutsuji.
With the training he received during the Hashira Training Arc meant to bolster every Demon Slayer in the organization, Tanjiro's abilities were improved tanjuro kamado again, preparing him for the final confrontation with demon-kind. During the Infinity Castle Arc, Tanjiro's immense growth since the beginning was showcased as he made quick work of numerous demons that were on par with Lower Rank demons, and later was stated to possess the same level of skill as a Hashira by Giyu.
His expertise and strength was once again displayed when he fought on even ground with Akaza, the demon that took Kyojuro's life, and later upon awakening the Demon Slayer Mark again and accessing the Transparent World and Selfless State, managed to save Giyu's life and behead Akaza.
After the fight, Tanjiro and Giyu encountered the Demon King himself, Muzan Kibutsuji, and both managed tanjuro kamado hold him off despite losing an eye can being severely poisoned by him, almost losing his life as a result. After recovering from the ordeal, Tanjiro was able to fight against Muzan by himself, who had just singlehandedly blitzed Giyu, Sanemi, Tanjuro kamado, Obanai, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Kanao.
Muzan expressed feelings of unease towards Tanjiro due to the similarities between him and Yoriichi, the strongest Demon Slayer and swordsman to ever exist, [14] showing his immense power. With the help of Obanai, Tanjiro managed to drive the King of Demons into the corner and stall until sunrise, putting an tanjuro kamado to Muzan once and for all. Demon Slayer Mark: Tanjiro's Demon Slayer Mark takes the form of a flame-like pattern replacing the scar on his forehead.
After the Tanjuro kamado Training Arc his scar is replaced with a permanent flame mark, and when he activates his Demon Slayer Mark it grows in size, reaching past his eyebrows. Interestingly enough, Tanjiro's mark is exactly that same as the marks of Yoriichi Tsugikuni and Kokushibo. The mark drastically enhances all of Tanjiro's natural abilities, such as his strength, speed, and reflexes.
Tanjiro awakens his mark for the first time while fighting Upper Rank Six, Gyutaro, [15] which granted him the arm strength needed to behead the Upper Rank and later awakened it while unleashing the Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance technique against Hantengu's clones. [16] Later, the mark reappears during his rematch against Upper Rank 3, Akaza. [17] The drawback to his marked state is that Tanjiro can only enter it on rare occasions, and he can only use it for a very short period since it causes exhaustion to his body as proven in his battles against the Upper Ranks.
• Bright Red Nichirin Sword: Tanjuro kamado first unlocked this ability after Nezuko Kamado lit his sword on fire using her pyrokinetic Blood Demon Art, which gave him an edge over Hantengu's clones and drastically slowed down their regenerative abilities. During his second battle against Muzan, Tanjiro gains the ability to dye his Nichirin Sword in a bright red color by himself after nearly dying and mastering the Sun Breathing and later awakened it one final time with the help of Giyu to drive Muzan into a tanjuro kamado and hamper his instantaneous regeneration.
• Transparent World: Like his father, he gained the ability to foresee the opponent's attack by analyzing and perceive his opponents' blood flow, muscles, skeletal/joint alignment and organs. In this state, his movement intuition and evasion speed increased dramatically. [18] [19] He accessed this state by remembering his father's words and used it in the midst of battle to defeat Akaza. Even while he accessed the Transparent World again when he mastered Sun Breathing against Muzan [20], he tanjuro kamado not able to perceive it during the later part of the fight.
This is however, due to his immense fatigue of not gathering enough oxygen from Muzan's blood attacks destroying majority of his body and cells. Enhanced Accuracy: Even before he trained to become a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro had impeccable aim and precision. This was shown when he outsmarted Giyu and threw his hatchet into the air at a perfect trajectory such that he it would strike his head. [21] Later on, as Akaza was escaping into the forest, Tanjiro flung his katana with incredible precision over a long distance until it pierced the Upper Rank's body.
[22] Tanjiro also displayed his great precision against Muzan, where Tanjiro was able to aim and throw a barrage of swords at the King of Demons with perfect accuracy. [23] [24] Tanjiro using his sense of smell to accurately detect booby traps in the surroundings.
Enhanced Smell: Tanjiro possesses a heightened sense of smell bordering into supernatural tanjuro kamado.
• Extrasensory Perception: Through his superhuman senses, Tanjiro can perceive things outside the normal range of perception like the intentions, feelings, and thoughts of other creatures, even of animals such as insects and birds.
He can also sense the aura and presences of demons and even tell their strength level at a glance. This allows him to discern humans from demons over a long range, with the more powerful demons having a more disgusting, overwhelming and malicious scent than other weaker demons. • Pseudo-Precognition: When training with Yoriichi Type Zero, Tanjiro's sense of smell evolved further to be able to predict future movements, actions and intentions of others merely through scent, even of non-living things like Yoriichi Type Zero itself.
[25] Tanjiro noted that the smell of the future was different and much faster compared to the smell of the 'opening thread', giving him the reflexes and movements comparable to a Hashira and allowing to go toe to toe with Hantengu's clones early on.
Tanjiro fracturing Inosuke's ribs and sending him flying with a single punch. Enhanced Strength: After his training at Mount Sagiri, Tanjiro has gained superhuman arm and leg strength and has demonstrated a great use of it, jumping over the humongous Hand Demon, and leaping over buildings effortlessly. Tanjiro also broke Genya's arm and Inosuke's ribs when he was angered and send him flying with a few punches. With his katana, he could slice through gigantic boulders and entire trees and later cut off Akaza's head, a feat which even Kyojruo couldn't accomplish, albeit he was severely wounded then.
When he was posing as a courtesan, he was shown to carry dozens of large boxes easily and when he was angered, he ripped off an Upper Rank's leg. When he was training with Gyomei Himejima, he was tasked with lifting 3 enormous logs on his back and push a boulder through town.
Tanjiro deducing and surmising Akaza's abilities from his subtle words and actions in the midst of battle. Genius Intellect: Tanjiro is incredibly analytical and sagacious, as well as showing a natural aptitude and innate intuition in many varied areas.
Even against opponents that heavily outmatch him in multiple categories, Tanjiro tanjuro kamado capable of creating strategies to beat an opponent on the fly and in danger even if it results in his own death. Upon seeing a fighting style once, Tanjiro can analyze it, and it’s even possible for him to accomplish such a feat even in the midst of a constantly shifting location where he lacks any environmental advantage or benefit.
[26] Tanjiro has been noted to be very adaptive against any opponent as well as explosive growth rate. Furthermore, he is an expert at using his opponent's abilities against them. [27] Even if the opponent offers no real details or specifics on their power, Tanjiro can pick up subtle phrases and words used throughout their fights to deduce the ability in a short amount of time, as he had done in the battle against Akaza. He's even conjured new abilities, even new Breathing Styles and utilized them effectively upon using them once, [28] [29] even able to combine techniques despite not being fully proficient in either of them, such as when he combined Water Breathing and Hinokami Kagura together in order to save Hinatsuru from Gyutaro [30], and later used once again during the Infinity Castle Arc to slay dozens of tanjuro kamado.
• Combat Intuition: This trait of Tanjiro's was pointed out by Giyu during their first encounter, in which Tanjiro skillfully laid out a plan to attack Giyu by surprise by charging towards him, not showing the Demon Slayer that he was unarmed, and bring down Giyu with a hatchet he had thrown in the air beforehand. The attack failed, but Giyu was still very impressed by Tanjiro's plan, especially considering he was a rookie at the time.
Furthermore, Tanjiro also showed proficiency in hand-to-hand combat despite never practicing martial arts before, allowing him to hold his own and adapt instantly to Inosuke's animalistic unarmed fighting style. Tanjiro causing Sanemi, a Hashira, tanjuro kamado bleed with a headbutt. Hard Skull: Tanjiro has a strong skull, which the Temple Demon compares to a rock. During certain situations, he can headbutt the opponent hard enough to stun them or knock them out completely, in some situations even cause their head to bleed upon impact.
Managing to hit the Temple Demon twice in a row without being stunned shows he is capable of doing it more than once. The full power of this attack is shown to give Inosuke a delayed concussion while Tanjiro suffered no backlash from tanjuro kamado.
Tanjiro also head-butted the Wind Hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa, having temporarily stunned him, leaving the other Hashira impressed by its durability. Tanjiro's superhuman movement speed. Immense Speed & Reflexes: Tanjiro possesses superhuman speed and reaction time, being able to travel faster than the eye can see and even move faster than Sabito, an extremely skilled sword master, and react to the blinding movement speeds of demons even before he started using Total Concentration Breathing ( å…¨ ( ãœã‚“ ) 集 ( ã—ゅㆠ) ä¸ ( ã¡ã‚…ㆠ) 㮠呼 ( ã“ ) å¸ ( ãゅㆠ)Zen ShÅ«chÅ« no KokyÅ« ?).
After a few months of training at the Butterfly Mansion, his speed and reflexes could match those of the strongest members of the Lower Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki. When angered, he was able to move faster than Daki, an Upper Rank demon, could even react. Tanjiro has also shown the ability to casually blitz lower level demons and ordinary humans. He later was able to blitz three of Hantengu's clones simultaneously and keep up with Akaza, one of the fastest demons in existence.
After awakening his Demon Slayer Mark, Tanjiro's tanjuro kamado increases even further to the point that even Akaza couldn't react in time and process his movements.
After awakening his Demon Slayer Mark, Tanjiro gains extremely tanjuro kamado reflexes, dodging and reacting to attacks from both Akaza and the King of Demons, Muzan Kibutsuji. Tanjiro persisting despite sustaining life-threatening injuries and getting poisoned.
Immense Stamina & Endurance: Tanjiro has incredible stamina and endurance, even before he became a Demon Slayer, showed when he had to train in a mountain will little to no oxygen for many days, dodging booby traps, running and traversing through it up and down, and improving his swordsmanship skills and physique all while under these harsh conditions. His stamina and endurance was further improved having mastered Total Concentration: Constant ( å…¨ ( ãœã‚“ ) 集 ( ã—ゅㆠ) ä¸ ( ã¡ã‚…ㆠ) ・ 常 ( ã˜ã‚‡ã† ) ä¸ ( ã¡ã‚…ㆠ)Zen ShÅ«chÅ« JÅchÅ« ?), allowing him to exert himself physically 24/7.
When training with Kotetsu, Tanjiro was able to endure extremely tough training for seven days non-stop with no food and barely any water which he got from the rain.
He was also in battle with Lower Rank-level demons for 5 hours in the Infinity Castle and was still able to hold his on and defeat Upper Rank Three, Akaza, and later went on to engage in a skirmish tanjuro kamado the King of Demons, Muzan Kibutsuji, for 1 hour and 30 minutes till dawn.
Furthermore, he lasted one of the longest out of all the other Hashira and Hashira-level combatants, while still tanjuro kamado able to tolerate and tanjuro kamado all the damage and injuries he sustained from Muzan Kibutsuji's fatal blood attacks, poison and his powerful physical blows. Tanjiro's supernatural willpower and indomitable spirit.
Indomitable Will: Tanjiro possesses an undaunted will and spirit, being able to fight and engage in battle against enemies stronger than him with his sheer will alone to kill Demons and protect his sister even when he sustained severe injuries and wounds.
The death of his family also played a big role in his insurmountable willpower, his visions of his family members urging him on during times of crisis, allowing him to pull through any hardship. During the Mount Natagumo Arc, Tanjiro was willing to sacrifice his life for his sister, relying on nothing but sheer determination to fight tanjuro kamado Rui's attacks to kill him. When he was in a battle with Enmu, he displayed his supernatural willpower by committing suicide relentlessly in his dreams in order to awake from the demon's sleep spell, a feat which even Enmu thought was insane.
[31] After Kyojuro passed on, his final words and actions had a major impact on Tanjiro's mindset and willpower, increasing it to unprecedented levels, shown when he didn't give up no matter how hopeless a situation is, in the face of Upper Rank demons, no less. His spirit also played a big role in the final moments of Muzan's death, where his will allowed him to overcome his blood and return to becoming human.
It is possible to use both Repetitive Action and Total Concentration Breathing simultaneously, granting the user immense strength able to rival Upper Rank demons. Tanjiro learned tanjuro kamado technique after consulting Genya Shinazugawa. He raises his concentration to its maximum limits by remembering the faces of his loved ones and repeatedly recalling Kyojuro's phrase " Set your heart ablaze." [32] Selfless State: As he unlocked the Transparent World, Tanjiro also learned the ability to completely erase his presence like his father did, including all his fighting spirit.
This technique can also mask one's intent to kill and malice, allowing them to fight undetectable on against enemies' that rely on sensing one's intention to fight.
This ability allowed Tanjiro to completely negate/bypass Akaza's Compass Needle technique and decapitate him. Fighting Style Tanjiro's swordsmanship skill enabling him to defend himself from an Upper Rank's fierce onslaught. Master Swordsman: Tanjiro has always been a sword-fighting prodigy, starting out with skill rivaling Sabito, one of Sakonji Urokodaki's strongest students and surpassing him in a few months time and avenging his death by defeating the Hand Demon.
Despite being Mizunoto-ranked, his skill with the sword was superior to many of his seniors, even to the point tanjuro kamado defeating two Lower Ranked members of the Twelve Kizuki. His improvement in swordsmanship is also exceptional, shown when he could take on Upper Rank demons months after recovering from injuries and not having experience in fighting enemies of that caliber in the past.
Mitsuri Kanroji even commented that accomplishing such feat was equivalent to harsh training for 4 years. With intensive training in the Swordsmith Village, his skills and prowess with the blade could match that of the Hashira, the most powerful sword wielders in the entirety of the Demon Slayer Corps. Despite being no where near as skilled as Yoriichi Tsugikuni, he later could still go toe to toe with Muzan, showing his immense proficiency in the tanjuro kamado, thus making him possibly one of the strongest swordsmen of the current generation.
Breathing Style Water Breathing ( æ°´ ( ã¿ãš ) 㮠呼 ( ã“ ) å¸ ( ãゅㆠ)Mizu no kokyÅ« ?): Taught to him by Sakonji Urokodaki, a previous Water Hashira and Water Breathing Cultivator, this was Tanjiro's initial Breathing Style.
He became extremely proficient in it, enabling him to take on two members of the Tanjuro kamado Kizuki, namely Rui and Enmu. However, due to his body not being suited to Water Breathing's techniques, Tanjiro decided to switch to the Hinokami Kagura as his main Breathing Style. Despite this, Tanjiro has not abandoned what he was taught, combining Water Breathing with the Hinokami Kagura, due to the strain Hinokami Kagura placed on his body, in order to have stronger strikes than when he used Water Breathing alone and move for longer periods than if he used Hinokami Kagura alone.
He did this to save Hinatsuru from Gyutaro [30], and later used it once again during the Infinity Castle Arc to slay dozens of demons. Hinokami Kagura ( ヒノカミ 神楽 ( ã‹ãら )Hinokami Kagura ?): During tanjuro kamado near-death experience in his battle with Rui, Tanjiro awakened this in a memory of his father teaching him this Breathing Style.
As his body was more suited to the Hinokami Kagura, he quickly overpowered the Lower Rank demon. However, the sheer force and fatigue it place on his untrained body caused him to collapse and weaken significantly when using it, thus he only saved it for last ditch attempts to beat his adversaries.
After the Mugen Train Arc, Tanjiro trained more so that his body could take the strain of its techniques, and was capable of using multiple forms in succession in his battle against Daki, although the whiplash from doing so became quickly apparent. Still, through battling Hantengu and undergoing intense training during the Swordsmith Village Arc and the Hashira Training Arc, Tanjiro finally managed to master all the forms in the Hinokami Kagura, using it to its full potential against Akaza.
When Tanjiro fully witnessed all the forms performed by Yoriichi Tsugikuni, he realized his own Hinokami Kagura had unncessary movements, different wrist angles, footwork and breathing rhythm. Removing them enabled him to awaken the legendary Sun Breathing ( æ—¥ ( ã² ) 㮠呼 ( ã“ ) å¸ ( ãゅㆠ)Hi no kokyÅ« ?), [33] and he was able to temporarily battle on equal grounds with the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji, to the point that Muzan saw Yoriichi's visage overlapping with Tanjiro's own when tanjuro kamado was performing the techniques against him.

Equipment Standard Nichirin Katana: As a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro carries around a standard sized and shaped Nichirin katana. His first katana was forged by Hotaru Haganezuka. Originally it has standard metallic color, but changed to deep black the first time he held it. It can also become bright red either with Nezuko Kamado's Blood Demon Art or when he actively turns it bright red through his Demon Slayer Mark.
His original hilt is a black ring connected to its core by lines with a border of the same color, which heavily resembles a wagon wheel in appearance. Along with his katana, Tanjiro has a standard sword sheath that is deep black in color.
Tanjiro damaged or broke his sword a total of 3 times: the first in his fight with Rui when the latter's thread cut it tanjuro kamado half, the second when Akaza punched it into pieces in a fit of rage, and the third during the fight with Daki when he chipped the blade after clashing with the Upper Rank.
After the Swordsmith Village Arc, he switched to using the tanjuro kamado he found inside Yoriichi Type Zero that was sharpened and polished by Hotaru Haganezuka. His hilt was changed to the one used by the late Kyojuro Rengoku as well, which is shaped like a flame with a red core and orange border.
The new blade was not observed to change color, being already in deep black but has more intricate pattern, with the word Slay ( æ»… ( ã‚㤠)Tanjuro kamado ?) engraved on the side. It is implied to be stronger than the standard Nichirin Katana as Haganezuka mentioned that the steel was especially good quality.
[64] It is further implied that the previous wielder tanjuro kamado this sword is the legendary Yoriichi Tsugikuni. [65]. Tanjuro kamado Tanjiro has notorious habit of damaging his swords during hsi encounters with demons, this sword broke only at the end of the final fight with Muzan Kibutsuji.
The sword was implied to be subsequently repaired and displayed as a decoration in his descendants' house. [66] Abilities (Demon) Overall Abilities: Tanjiro is later transformed into a tanjuro kamado by Muzan Kibutsuji as his last-ditch attempt at living on even after being killed by the Demon Slayer Corps; Muzan hoped to pass his feelings and abilities onto Tanjiro, deeming him capable of fulfilling his legacy and becoming the Demon King.
[67] Although Tanjiro is quickly reverted back into a human via Tamayo's humanizing drug, the power he demonstrated during this brief time as a demon appeared to be at least the level of strength in between Lower and Upper Rank demons. It was later stated by Yushiro that, in terms of biological potential, Tanjuro kamado potential to evolve as a demon was a lot higher than his sister's, who was the first demon to develop a resistance to sunlight, and even Muzan's, the first and progenitor of all demons, [68] implying that, if Tanjiro willingly assimilated Muzan's blood, he would grow into a being stronger than the King of Demons himself, and probably Yoriichi Tsugikuni as a result.
Nigh-Absolute Regeneration: Upon assimilating the blood of the Demon King, a being who possesses the fastest and most powerful regenerative power in the world, Tanjiro's regenerative abilities surpassed that of all other demons that existed. Even Giyu Tomioka noted that this ability, coupled with his immunity to sunlight, makes him a being tanjuro kamado is practically invincible to all forms of physical harm. [69] Sunlight Resistance: After he first transforms, Tanjiro is initially affected by sunlight as any normal demon would be, however he quickly develops a resistance to it and is soon able to move around in broad daylight without taking any damage.
It's possible that he's able to do this because, as noted by Muzan right before his death, he shares blood with Nezuko, a demon who conquered the sun, and his abilities appear to stem from her own.
[67] Giyu claimed that, with his immunity to the sun, along with his enhanced regeneration, Tanjiro is practically invincible. [69] Fighting Style (Demon) Blood Demon Art Tanjiro grows bone-like whips and appendages from his back similar to Muzan. Biokinesis: As Tanjiro assimilated Muzan's blood, he subsequently gained his biokinetic Blood Demon Art. Thus, Tanjiro is able to control various properties and aspects of his body. • Shapeshifting: Tanjiro has displayed shapeshifting abilities similar to Muzan.
He can grow spine-like protrusions from his back that extend into bladed, whip-like tentacles that drastically increase his attack range. However, likely due to his mindless state, Tanjiro hasn't displayed the same skill at wielding them as Muzan.
[70] Techniques (Demon) Shockwave Energy Blast: [71] Similar to Muzan, and likely because he inherited his blood, Tanjiro's screams can create a powerful energy and lightning-like shockwave.
The technique is powerful enough to blow away Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Goto while they tried to restrain him, with only Nezuko able to hold on.
He has also used this ability to generate a shockwave reminiscent of an energy beam powerful enough to create a small crater in the ground.

The rest depends on how the enemy divides its attention. The enemy is warier of strong people, so the wall of their caution is thick. If they think someone is weak, that wall is thinner.
