Chen membuka peluang meraih dua gelar dari nomor ganda putri dan ganda campuran setelah melewati babak perempat final, Jumat (16/6/2017). "Sekarang saya dan partner-partner saya sudah sampai babak semifinal. Sudah sampai sejauh ini, saya tentu akan berusaha untuk menang pada dua nomor sekaligus," tutur Chen.

Chen tercatat bertanding tiga kali pada Jumat. Hal ini dikarenakan jadwal pertandingan babak kedua ganda campuran yang seharusnya dimainkan pada Kamis (15/6/2017) molor hingga Jumat dini hari.  Lho kenapa? Chen Qingchen merupakan pemain putri spesialis ganda asal Tiongkok yang mulai mencuri perhatian di tahun 2016 kemarin. Prestasi Chen di level junior boleh dibilang luar biasa, ia meraih hattrick gelar chen qingchen dora untuk sektor ganda campuran dan dua gelar juara untuk ganda putri, total lima gelar juara dunia junior ia sudah kumpulkan.

Debutnya di turnamen super series pun langsung menunjukkan hasil yang mumpuni, bersama Zheng Siwei, Chen berhasil menjadi kampiun di Japan Open, French Open dan Dubai World Super Series Finals 2016 di tahun 2017 mereka kembali meraih titel juara di Malaysia Open Superseries Premier.

Bersama Bao Yixin Chen menjadi kampiun di Australia Open dan bersama Jia Yifan, Chen berhasil menjadi juara di French Open dan Dubai World Super Series Finals 2016.

Kegagalan di final Sudirman Cup 2017 saat ia kalah dari pasangan Korea Selatan di nomor WD, menjadikan Chen bulan-bulanan para 'haters' nya di dunia maya.

 Chen pun mendapatkan banyak julukan baru, ini diantaranya, Dora, Mangkuk Bubur dan Baskom. Saya sempat berpikir (dan tertawa) membaca julukan-julukan baru untuk pemain yang belum genap berusia 20 tahun ini, apa salah Chen sampai 'dibully' sedemikian rupa? Chen Qingchen memang tipikal pemain yang sangat ekspresif dan bisa sampai meluapkan kegembiraannya terutama ketika ia memenangkan pertandingan yang membuat ia meraih titel bergengsi.
